Western countries may indeed not need as many people as they currently have. Or maybe they do. Regardless, at some point in the future population will reach a level that at least needs to be sustained. The current birthrates of almost all Western nations are well below replacement. Immigration from high birthrate nations to sustain Western population levels would probably have to be at such a rate that assimilating the immigrants to Western culture would be impossible.

So, I believe at some point in the future, we need to get back to having an average of at least 2.1 children per woman. What do you think society can do to make this happen?

I welcome all discussion, but personally I'm interested in female-friendly suggestions, not some Handmaiden's Tale nightmare ideas. What could society do to make it so that the birthrate climbs to 2.1+ voluntarily and happily, for both men and women?
