Being being beautiful isn't as good as being ugly is bad. Ugly people will say that looks>everything else because for them that is the main thing holding them back. If someone lacked money they would assume that money is more important than anything else. Lacking something is always more bad than having something is good.

It's much easier for them to the effect that they don't even have to be cognizant of it.

People who are more attractive tend to view the world with "rose colored glasses" because things are almost always great for them. They can be happy-go-lucky/carefree and everything will work out because that's just how it happens.

The lesser-attractive people know how bleak things can actually be because they're pretty much forced to live in reality and be able to see things for what they are.

I had a girl tell me a few days ago "What you put out in the universe always comes back to you," and I could tell that life for this girl must be great for her to throw some brain-dead trope at me like that. She's very physically attractive and posts pics on instagram. Tons of followers. People like this don't really understand how things are. They only understand how things have been for them.

It's the halo effect. People see those as good looking as more approachable, friendly etc, which can lead them to getting jobs, dates, even promotions.

I think it’s been shown in dozens of studies that good looking people have an all around better life. Studies show that being more attractive make it more likely to get a promotion, even if your uglier coworker might be more qualified. You more chances to find more partners. You are able to make friends easier, even if they aren’t interested sexually or your looks, people will want to just associate with you. It’s a couple things.

Halo vs Horns effect. Everyone here spoke about it already, and info on it is everywhere. Basically, the better looking you are, the better people will see your others traits or your actions. Even if you make social mistakes or do something malicious to someone, they even give the benefit of the doubt most of the time and will give a better looking person more “chances” than say an unattractive person. If an unattractive person makes even the slightest mistake socially or in action, they’re done, because we want every reason to not associate with someone who we perceive as unattractive that their “bad action” is enough to prove our perception as correct and we should not associate with them.
Positive feedback loop. A good looking person, via the halo effect, will constantly be given good feedback of their actions, looks, whatever. So, they have a more positive outlook on life, allowing them the sense they can take more chances, try new things, etc and feel little to no consequences. I read once that sometimes this leads to sociopathic and narcissistic tendencies due to sense that these people can get away with anything. Incels want this power, which is why they constantly want to be Chad, to get away with whatever they want.

So yeah, looks determine the ease of a life. That’s not to say that an unattractive person can’t succeed, can’t become rich, or find love or interest. But, this uglier person needs to be constantly on point, sometimes the slightest misstep is enough to have their life tumble down.

I think its similar to wealth. Yeah the super beautiful have a better existence than the normies and above average folk.

But the gap between the middle and the elite is way, way smaller than the gap between the truly ugly and the middle.

It's about passing the threshold. Being good looking enough is substantially more important than being gorgeous. And I absolutely think there's a massive empathy gap in society for the truly ugly folk.

As someone who went from ugly as a kid to good looking as an adult, it makes a world of difference. You get the benefit of the doubt for pretty much everything. Also, many women treat ugly men like they're sub-human and go out of their way to antagonize them.

Being a beautiful young woman is really a different world (when I say young I mean 18-26). Men are SO nice to you. Younger men try to chat you up all the time, give you compliments. Older men don't hit on you but make lots of exceptions for you (not having enough bus far, being late for appointments, whatever). Older women are fine to you, but younger women can be kind of rougher around the edges. There's some street harassment too, which is not as nice. As you get older the extra attention fades away, but the world continues to be a perfectly pleasant place to be around. I will say, it kind of fucks with your head because you don't realize that the way you're treated has to do with your age and your looks at the time - you think it's just because people like you.

It’s as good as the character/personality that takes advantage of the increased social opportunity.

In terms of making friends and gaining romance it’s the most important aspect up until college. After college, status & finances have more weight for starting a family but looks is still largely important.

It makes a real difference, IMO! I was a geeky, nerdy kid and was pretty much ignored by boys my age in early adolescence ... then I saw the movie "Grease" and a little light switch flicked on in my head. I realized that if I wanted to attract people, I had to make myself attractive. Even though I didn't care much for things like makeup, hairstyling and fashionable clothing, I had to jump through the hoops or suffer the consequences. Even after my self-imposed makeover, I was far from gorgeous, but being at least average made a world of difference in how other people treated me.

I think this sub makes an incredibly delusional distinction between good looking and not good looking people. Like there are a bunch of 6’5, ripped dudes with perfect bone structure, moves like James Bond who fuck like a porn stars and then just “average” dudes who can’t get any attention from women. The reality is most people exist somewhere in between that “chad” definition and ugly but the majority of incels on here don’t accept that people are out there who aren’t perfect who are perfectly capable of getting laid.

For good looking women from poor family background life is actually hard.

You need to continuously safe yourself from powerful sex hungry men who try to flex with their connections etc.. to take your jobs if you don't comply with their demands.

Meanwhile, a woman who is brought up in an ellites family, looking good doubles her chance of becoming successful and famous herself.

While for good looking men let it be poor or rich, looking good always have benefits if we remove the edge case were a crazy woman decides to stain your character with her fake charges because she felt you are too attractive to settle for her and she's too disposable - so there is no symmetry in power.

Good-looking people have the same issues as everybody else. Chad and Stacy have the same issues in their relationships just like everybody else. You have more options but to actually really click with someone it takes a lot of people to filter through. Yes, you have that effect of people staring at you, people acknowledging you more, people remembering you better but I wouldn't say it impacts your life drastically. I guess if anything your looks may provide you with more confidence and that's the primary benefit in my opinion. With that all being said you definitely get haters who will try their best to bring you down just because they are jealous. It's a double edged sword and overall the benefits are negated by downsides. Oh and also, out of my large circle I honestly haven't noticed good looking peoples' lives being better or them having better relationships. Actually, the happiest couple I know - both people are not good looking at all..

I think it is greatly impacted. For starters, career success. If you have a large social circle, you have more people to offer you jobs at their work. How many people get jobs this way today? I've held jobs that are so difficult to get, on the first day they went around the table asking all the new hires who they know that got them the job. The more people you know..... All of that is ignoring what we now know to be factual; more attractive people can make more $ doing the exact same job. I could also go on about jobs that I've personally been "weeded out" of, because i didn't roll with the right people, but that's a separate subject entirely.

People need human interaction. The more you interact, the closer you bond. The more sex you have. The more love you feel. Do i really need to explain why attractive people have an advantage here?

Women say men need to make money, have "status", and be good looking. I just explained how being ugly puts unattractive men in a disadvantaged position over others for status and wealth. All they're left with now is their poor looks!

I'm a fairly attractive woman and life still fucking sucks. I still work under far more successful people, I'm often assumed to be stupid or vain and no one cares about what I do for fun or who I am as a person. People are drawn to my looks and think they're in love with me but we have absolutely nothing in common. Everyone that likes me seems fake as shit, and people that dont like me sometimes feel that way because they assume I'm unintelligent and all I have to offer is my looks. I can't seem to get relationships to last because they only go into the relationship wanting my looks and the sex and end up using me and resenting me when I express emotional needs. Life is not better for me, I just get slut shamed the fuck out and the only people that act nicer to me for being pretty, do it because they have insincere intentions. It blows.

Probably nowhere near to the degree people think it makes a difference. Sure, if you're a super hot woman, yeah you can probably be sure it's gonna help you quite abit, but for guys and most other moderately attractive people, I highly doubt it makes such a massive difference.

Being attractive means getting the benefit of the doubt in most situations though it can occasionally mean the opposite. The other effect is attracting the interest and being pursued by men which is only about a quarter of the nice thing it might appear to be.

Overall, being attractive definitely makes life easier.

I have an attractive male friend. I wouldn't know, but everytime I go out with him, there's something.

I overhear girls talking about him a table down. I see how waitresses try to joking/talking with him. He gets girlfriends easier because they start flirting/talking to him first. He's one of those guys that if he wanted to, he'd get laid every night with a different girl no problem.

He still has to "play it right" in a sense that he'd have to smile back or offer some witty reply; but its a different plane of existence compared to uglies like me.

That’s why attractive women are so conceited, bitchy and selfish.

They literally believe they’re superior to others and not just the recipient of a winning ticket in the genetic lottery.

As a short guy I can tell you tall, good looking men have it much easier than me where women are concerned as well.

Some short guys say you just have to work harder, but that’s bullshit. Most women will never consider a short man as a long term partner. Their egos won’t let them.

I’m rejected on sight 99% of the time, whereas taller guys often have a chance.

It’s depressing how that continual rejection and dismissal warps you over years and decades.

I used to be a happy kid, but after seeing how shallow the overwhelming majority of women are over such a meaningless trait, I’m just sad and resentful.

Your whole life, limited and circumscribed by one element of your body you can’t do anything to change.

That all aside. A bit easier. looks alone won't carry you through a career that needs qualifications. You might be more likely to be listened to but eye candy isn't enough that most logical people will hire you knowing your dead weight.

It also probably makes finding people who just enjoy your personality a guessing game. But you'll always get preferential treatment. I guess how valuable honesty vs favoritism is depends on a personal choice.

I feel like approachable and the boy next door look is the most popular amongst women and they truly live a different life. I've read about how men struggle but none of the men I know irl have struggled so much.

That being said I know two men who are above average and get a lot of female attention. Like casual pick up lines work, women make excuses to talk to them. One of them had a shitty date and the girl straight up offered him to "chill" at her place afterwards. This guy had women straight up veer to sexting without much context or make excuses like they were "drunk".
