I just finished watching the available Wheel of Time episodes. I was worried about it being another show ruined by Wokeness propaganda, but thus far that hasn't been so bad. But there have been a few worrying episodes.

But as I thought about it, I did realize that even well-grounded and well-meaning creators of action/adventure content are in a tough spot when it comes to female characters. If you believe in strong, evolved gender differences, then this area is naturally more of the purview of men. But women want to be represented too in these films, and you want to appeal to a broad audience.

One can go like SEAL Team, but that leaves female characters as peripheral. Since there is variance within women, you can write some exceptional female characters, and treat them as such. But if you have too many of them, you start suggesting a more universal female nature that is inaccurate, IMO.

Anyone have any ideas? Or any examples of not only individual characters, but action/adventure/fantasy properties that get gender right?
