This would obviously never happen and I’m not saying that I want it to happen but the argument for allowing men to opt out of paying for child if the woman doesn’t get an abortion is to make it “equal” on that both parties have an option to opt out (assuming abortion is legal)

What this argument doesn’t acknowledge is that for a woman to “opt out” she has to undergo a medical procedure that does have risks (greater risks the longer the pregnancy goes on and the type of abortion she can have; medical vs surgical)

It also doesn’t acknowledge that if a man does opt out (and a woman doesn’t) that now a child possibly has less opportunities in life or might not be able to drink fresh milk and just have powdered milk because it’s mom makes above the income limit for any benefits but not enough that they can afford fresh milk or regular meat. This child would not be afforded a life of luxury with those child support payments because the average child support payment in the USA is $400 a month- let’s ignore outliers such as millionaires and billionaires)

But onwards to the experiment

Now men are allowed to opt out of parenthood and child support so it doesn’t matter if the woman has an abortion or not either way he makes his own choice. BUT to opt out men now have to get a vasectomy or use that birth control for men that injects hydrogel to black sperm for 2 years until he is married and he and his future wife (or partner) sign a document saying he is ready for children.

This makes it fair in that if he doesn’t want to pay child support for a child he is now being made accountable that he won’t be helping to create more bastards - yes the woman helped too but she is paying for that child alone now AND makes it fair that if a woman has an abortion a medical procedure to opt out so does he.

Would this be fair would everyone be open to this?
