No one "deserves" anything. You owe no one anything.

All that matters is getting what YOU want in the sexual marketplace.

I never wanted marriage and kids. I wanted a non-cohabitating LTR with a stoic, introverted, hilarious, non-needy, non-jealous, non-"trad" conservative/libertarian-leaning man I'm sexually attracted to who lifts, pays for dates and is otherwise hands off.

I got exactly what I wanted. Why? Because I have abundance mentality, am fit and lean and make a great income. I don't need a man but WANTED one and got commitment from a man I love, respect and admire.

That's winning to me. Not what trads or feminists or the manosphere thinks.

For me, I'd try to fix it because I feel like I ask for people to help fix a Problem, I'm a hypocrite if I don't do it myself. I'd also say I'm most harsh on women that we can't ask for something to be changed and then put forth zero effort. There are no handouts. So if you're stepping out of the dating world then go ahead, you don't owe anyone anything. But of you're staying, be part of the solution of fixing it.

When a woman has something which you value beyond quick and easy sex, you will see exactly what's in it for you personally to make her happy. You'll want to date the right way, then.

When you spin your wheels time and again approaching women in the wrong way, you will get ignored or have your time/resources wasted. You will no longer probably want to date frequently, then.

Matter of fact, change MY view, please. What's in it for you to send unsolicited dick pics and "hey" messages and grab a coffee with random women only to never see them again? What is in it for you to date in such a way where quality women won't fully participate? For the life of me, I can't imagine aiming that low for scraps of attention when I could do better. So, yeah, that's why many men should behave a little more appropriately in the dating world.

Nobody is asking much of me - an undesirable single guy in his 40s - so this doesn’t exactly ring true from where I stand.

It sounds as though the females demanding things of males are males in their past and not people like me. I guess I haven’t paid a great deal of attention because I’m not the target audience. They just don’t care about me and that sucks for me because I would ideally like to get to know females and date. On the other hand, they’re not asking anything of me either so generic demands don’t seem imperative.

Counterpoint: In order for society to not completely collapse or devolve into some degeneracy or other, there is a requirement of basic cooperation, respect, and love for all humans, regardless of their attributes. That means defending one another from external threats and creating an environment that is healthy for humans to thrive and grow.

Similarly, both men and women are required to work in tandem to create an adequate growing environment. Gender roles are the most primitive manifestations of humankind trying to build a safe and healthy environment for themselves: the man, being more physically capable on average, would hunt animals to provide critical sustenance and defend the society, while women, being capable of reproduction and child-raising, would take care of the more vulnerable members(youth, among others) and forage for other kinds of sustenance. Chivalry is another result of the creating of systems to mold a healthy society(defending the weak from abuses of the strong, don't lie, etc.) and I believe that it has enhanced society and created a healthy environment for humans to coexist and thrive.

By rejecting these principles you would be rejecting what are core tenets of society. Society has fed quite a bit into destructive narratives that have eroded morality and the relationship between man and woman. But that does not mean that these core tenets shouldn't apply to you anymore. In fact, it's an incentive to advocate for their reinforcement in society and rejection the more damaging ideas that have caused such statements like "kill all men" to grow in popularity.

As a Christian, there are many aspects of this topic that I would like to discuss in the context of God's relationship with us and how we utilize our free will, but I do not feel as comfortable posting about it here for fear of some cringe atheist going "uR gOd IsNt REaL".
