Most of the women I know who have N-counts above 1-2 are very confident, well-adjusted, self-assured women. They're all in long-term relationships now, but they did have "fun" back in college.

This "mentally damaged used up slut" is a trope I only see on reddit tbh.

It's typically the virgins or very low N count women who struggle with low self-esteem.

If there was an accurate way to measure self-esteem, I'd expect it to be more correlated with sexual autonomy rather than quantity. Sluts who don't care about approval and prudes who don't care about sex will probably have better self-esteem than sluts who care about validation and prudes who don't engage in sex because they're afraid of what others will say.

Self-esteem is hard to measure because people with low self-worth might adopt fake confidence as a defense mechanism. Measured self-esteem might also depend on superficial factors such as material posessions or the approval of other people. Once those are gone so will be the person's self-worth.

EDIT: self-reporting is indeed an issue, but how come none of you have a problem with it when it comes to opinion pieces echoing your beliefs? Be consistent, goddammit!

The women who have low self-esteem tend to be the ones who have high body counts but don’t want to have high body counts. They desperately want to settle down and form an LTR with a hot man, but they keep on striking out because hot men know their value and won’t settle for any woman unless she treats him like an absolute King, which precious few women have any interest in doing.

Promiscuous women are promiscuous by choice. Their lifestyle is in harmony with who they are, and they naturally don’t feel guilt over having a high body count. Sex and love are completely separate things to them. Their sexuality is more like a man’s. Thus, it makes sense that their self-esteem wouldn’t suffer.

I would believe this. Not every promiscuous woman has daddy issues or low self esteem.

Some of them seem quite bold. I think in some cases it could be a case of narcissism (i want it all, with no consequences).

Either way, it still doesnt change the fact that its the biggest red flag.

before i came out as gay, i had a moderate N-count. only men. it’s about 15-20. not sure of the number bc unfortunately the majority of that number was older men taking advantage of me as a teenager. so ?? not sure where the number technically is(like 10-15 maybe?)

my therapist thinks i had sex as a form of self harm. i stopped doing the more obvious signs of self mutilation, and became promiscuous which lasted until i was about 18. i didn’t come out at 18, but i started being more aware of my actions.

N-count for women is 1.

low-self esteem CAN create promiscuity, but that’s not always the case as reported in the article. it’s nice to feel attractive and “useful” but the feeling never lasts bc after the ONS i felt drained and disgusted with myself. which started the cycle over.

I can't say much about the validity of the study since I haven't read it, but in my experience with a lot of very high n women, there is the "Likes sex and doesn't care what others think" crowd and a much smaller "please validate me" group.

The validate group doesn't last long in swinging because swinging can be a real ego check when you get straight up rejected as a woman for NSA sex. It quickly crushes low self esteem women, more than the men (as we are more used to being rejected, still sucks).

My guess is that low self esteem can lead to high N but obviously not all high N are low self esteem.

I guess I'll be realistic by pointing that being promiscuous in and of itself doesn't mean the woman has low self esteem. You don't need a low or high level of self esteem to get sex as a woman (unless the guy has a moral code that involves not sleeping with women that have a poor self image)

The reason why promiscuous women have a stereotype of having low self esteem is because alot of women, who happen to have low self esteem, try to use sex to make a guy either commit to her or stay committed, basically trying to take advantage of the "guys always want sex" stereotype to her advantage.

Not to mention, it also doesn't help given the fact that alot of promiscuous women seem to have mental illness beyond just low self esteem by itself. Sometimes feeling like they don't have much to offer beyond their body.

Then of course, there's women that have a higher sex drive and the ever famous nymphomania that bestows upon lucky men like finding a 4-leaf clover that leads to the pot of gold of a leprechaun.

Lastly, then there's the women who happen to have low self esteem from other reasons but use sex as a drug in order to make her mental illness(es) or stress go away for a bit. Basically I call these type of women (and the men who also engage in this) as sex junkies.

My boys and I have coined the term “The 4 pillars of promiscuity”.

The more unstable her home environment, the more likely she’s a slut. Think a girl who grew up in a household with a failed marriage, child of a single mother. Versus a girl who grew up in a stable household with parents who love each other, a close relationship with her father.

The more attention seeking behavior she participates in, the more likely she’s a slut. Think a girl addicted to social media, has thousands of followers, can’t put her phone down, tattoos, unconventional piercings like a tongue ring. Versus a girl without these things, she has Instagram but her profile is private, she only has a few hundred followers etc.

The more mind altering substances she’s experimented with, the more likely she’s a slut. Think a girl who smokes weed or dabs, has experimented with molly, cocaine, addy. Versus a girl who just drinks but manages her liquor, isn’t a sloppy drunk.

1) people lie all the time in surveys even when it's anonymous because they can't come to terms with reality

2) better looking women have less reason to be promiscuous even from a hygenic reason. they're much more "red pilled" than you think. they're fully aware of the hygenic risks of promiscuity. but uglier women do indeed require male validation for a sense of validity. Even ultra promiscuous high end hookers and porn stars, tend to be more careful and selective than the average 4/10 slut. very good looking women are essentially apex predators in the sexual ecosphere. so they generally have a lot more to lose by being promiscious while ugly women have more to gain.
