I posted about this in an incel thread a few weeks ago. Plain Jane's could get attention in theory from low value men. However, in practice, low value men are too risk avoidant to ever approach Jane, the prize of having Jane is not enough of a motivator to risk being rejected by someone they perceive to be low value. It hits too close to forcing them to face the reality they are even lower in value than even her. If a 9 rejects him, of course, she's way out of his league, but at least the prize would have been worth it. If a 4 rejects him, it's devastation.

So you have a lot of guys who say the will date a Jane, but they want Jane to approach him and make it a sure thing, which is kinda an unrealistic expectation for a guy who's not Chad. And you have girls who complain they don't get attention from guys who are only passively interested. It's just a bunch of missed connections...

Average woman here. I've never been asked out. In high school, guys only talked to me because I was really good at school and was "one of the guys". In college, it was exactly the same, only I was fatter.

But my experience won't matter because you're going to tell every woman that tells you about their experience "you're just upset that Chad didn't pay attention to you". It won't matter to you that I just wanted that skinny nerd in my ACM club to ask me out.

While I've never been beautiful, I did go through a phase of braces and glasses. My weight has swung as much as 30 lbs in my adult life, from the lowest to the highest. I look at pictures from my ugly ducking phase, and realize I was a pretty average girl.

The attention women get is pretty proportional to their attractiveness. When I was awkward looking and when I don't put effort into my appearance I still get attention. However, this attention is a lot lower than just "non-Chads".

The lowest level guys usually have to cast the widest net in cat call form. When you are not in "buy me drinks" shape those are the men you get attention from. I'd say they range from 20th to 40th percentile, not anything below 80th percentile like you are implying.

I maintain my previous position that men pay a hugely disproportionate amount of attention to attractive women and considerably less attention to average women, unless they are just trying to fuck absolutely everyone in some bedpost-notching exercise.

I'm basing this on my observations of every man I've ever met and spent time around, including myself.

However, I would also say that the average woman will get more attention than the average man and will probably have an easier time getting a date.

This perverse obsession with Chad is more of a fantasy for men than women. In real life, different women are attracted to different men. Honestly, some people have such dogmatic, black-and-white views on here it is quite laughable.

Most women don't really see this as "attention", they see it as annoying, embarrassing, or harassment. It's negative, not positive for them.

I had experiences where male friends will tell me that I got attention and that I rejected men that I barely interacted with. Like if I was at a party and a man will kinda hang out somewhat around me without starting any conversation. Then a couple days later other men will comment about me playing hard to get. I went out to a bar once with a group of friends and one man who doesn't typically hang out with us dressed up really nice. He left the group after just one beer and a my male friend talked to me about how that man only came out for me. He were telling me I should have reciprocated the man's effort but I didn't have a damn clue.

I think the obesity epedemic has taken its toll on both sides. Attraction doesnt shift with average weight and as a result, the fatter people get the more the attention skews to the tops of both genders.

That said, i think there is some truth to your point, but thats human nature. Everyone is searching for the best, men and women.

The difference is that if you are a 7-girl and get attention from a 5-guy, you tell him no and he feels it.

If you are a 7-guy, you never know that a 5-girl likes you because women dont pursue. Shell go home and write in her diary that "he'll never notice me".

The attention that average women get from top guys is using them for sex. The attention average men get from top women is using them for money.

It all balances out.

No its that Chad, Jim and Tom conflate their penis feelings (sexual attraction) to Stacy with their empathy and feelings towards Stacy's intelligence, humor, and other value. This is why Stacy gets promoted or given attention unjustly and really really ugly Becky gets contempt.

Male attention is more valuable than sex and relationships. men lack the ability to separate the way their body responds to Stacy from the way their mind responds to her. Stacy gets job promotions, extra tutoring, love, and continual kindness just for being hot and a girl and not just from Chad but from Jim Tom and Poindexter too

Its not particularly bad for most women in fact I would say many women benefit from this. But if you are an ugly woman it is harrowingly terrible.

When I went to high school a long time ago, average girls got attention from average to below average guys. Below average girls didn't get much attention if at all. So I think the correct view is somewhere between yours and "the women of PPD," although perhaps it's different these days and average high school guys are so thirsty for casual sex they're hitting on even below average girls.

I don't think anyone has said this. What I've seen are women dispelling the notion that any woman, even the most unattractive, socially inept of them all, can get laid any time she wants. What I've seen are women pointing out that many of the guys who pine after only the hottest women and criticize women for ignoring average men, have themselves ignored average women. I've seen actual women sharing their stories in this sub of times they've been ignored. And funnily, I see you quite often choosing not to believe what the women in this sub tell you, which is unfortunate. I don't know if your view can be changed.

The women of PPD mean well, but they can only relate to their own experiences and the experiences of their female friends. That is the world they are living in. It is the same thing with men, we live in our world and evaluate things based off of our own experiences.

A woman, even an ugly, overweight women, gets far more sexual attention than an above average guy any day of the week. She even has the potential to hookup with Chads.

Young women at their core, fundamentally, don't understand the experience of average men and especially incels because their experience is so fundamentally different.

When women say that the Janes and Beckys don't get any attention, they are comparing the Janes and Beckys to the Staceys. But what they don't realize is even the plainest and ugliest Jane, gets about 5 or 10X more sexual attention than any above average guy. A very hot guy gets about as much sexual attention as a Becky. Any given Stacy gets about as much sexual attention as your average, young, handsome, famous male billionaire.

Many girls, mostly introverted girls, don't put out a sexual front. They may get some attention, but it comes either in the form of obtuse harassment or 'beta-orbiting', because they themselves don't present themselves as sexual objects to be acted on. There are lots of perfectly attractive women out there that are pretty, have big butts, are smart and funny, but don't receive as much serious romantic attention because men aren't seriously sexually attracted to them. This is really the first stage of sex, and these women don't know how to do it very well, it's as bad as giving a toothy blowjob, so they don't get very far. It's tricky because it's a fuzzy line between acting in real society in a civil way and essentially engaging in public sex. Girls who are too much in their own heads, or very concerned with everyone being civil, never let themselves be objects, and so can't even get to the first stage of sex.

If a girl doesn't let herself be an object I can't actually flirt with her because I'm not a rapist.

Lol in high school no one asked me out. I had guys stare at me, or act semi flirtatiously, but no one asked me out. Now it's the same thing. The first time I was properly asked out was when I was 19 or 20.

I know this thread is old but I'm gonna reply anyways (i don't even know how I got here) but to me, it's like giving someone a penny every day. Then one day you hear them say "man, no one EVER just GIVES me money". It's a completely untrue statement, but a penny a day isn't enough to register as free money in their minds. Up it to 5 cents and they'll say "well, I GUESS I KINDA get free money every day, technically". Up it to $5 and at that point they'll say "yeah I get money everyday, it's nice". Etc etc etc.
