I could imagine making exceptions, but for the most part education is really important to me. I'll give it a 4 on your scale. It signals:

At least a base level of intelligence, especially in certain fields
Intellectual curiosity. There are relatively few young people with a burning hunger for knowledge and intellectual conversations that decide to not go to university.
Ability to stick through something even when they don't enjoy it 100% of the time or think the requirements are kinda bullshit sometimes. This one people don't talk about enough, but this is HUGE to me. I find smart people who didn't go to university or dropped out are often either very low in conscientiousness, or have this "why should I ever do anything that I don't personally see as beneficial to myself?" attitude and struggle with compromise or doing something for no reason other than it being important to someone else in their life.

I live in a European country where uni is basically free so the financial argument isn't relevant here, but I could see prioritizing it less in countries where it's expensive. Going into tons of debt to get a degree in art history or something in the US is probably worse than not having a degree at all.

Credentials aren't as important.

You can be completely self taught. I don't care. But you must be fucking competent.

Because I have no fucking patience for nice, but completely incompetent people. I don't care how nice you are. If you're incompetent and unaware of your incompetence I will greatly dislike you.

But you must be curious, have intellectual interests and be a life long learner of something.

I've seen alot of stupid people who are book smart with credentials from academic bodies but are incompetent AF.

Smart and intelligent are two very different things.

I can't be with someone who doesn't have alot of intellectual interests, however.

Wherein education is taken as being engaged in the task of constantly improving your knowledge of the world and yourself; i.e. being super curious to know more. I would say it is a 5.

I don't see this as necessarily requiring a degree or anything like that. But I am into philosophy (I did a post grad in philosophy) and if you are not then I will annoy you because I will debate you on all your opinions and test my opinions against yours and yours against mine - to see if we can find common ground.

Easily passing High school is basically my minimum. (I'm college educated myself and pretty academically decorated at that). I'd be willing to entertain less, but there'd need to be quite a good story behind it because not having a high school degree is such a detriment in modern living.

With that said, I largely don't care so long as he's smart, curious, and funny.

It's one of my dealbreakers. Education is extremely important to me. I need a partner that will relate with and understand that we can't see each other every day and that I need to study 8-10 hours every day, and a partner that places the same value on it, which will be very important for raising children one day.

I need a partner who I could talk to, who will understand my references, have great general knowledge and share my interests. Those traits are, from experience, more commonly found in the college educated population.

And it's not about the money. I'd much rather date a broke teacher than a rich plumber.

Although I don’t mesure education in college degrees, I’m attracted to women who are cultured and well traveled, who speak multiple languages, have visited / lived in multiple countries, and who’s much more interested in discovering the world and experiencing new things than having a white picket fence, kids, a 9 to 5, and the boring sex life that comes with those things. That life is of basically zero interest to me.

2 in terms of fundamentals. IQ + desirable personality traits + complimentary garner intelligences is really important imo.

Secondary education, it definitely depends where and what area she got it in as academics are becoming increasingly corrupted.

Her general intelligence and ability to realistically problem solve without being told by external sources what is right and wrong is what is most important to me. IQ is way more indicative of long term "academic" success, and information is available so easily now that people who enjoy learning can thrive with basic life needs and a thirst for knowledge and curiosity toward the world.

But stupid and bitter people don't bother. And if you educate a stupid bitter person they will often begin to think they are smarter than everyone.

I'm for the stupid happy people who just want to love life and the stupid smart people who are curious about life.

I don't have much interest in indoctrinated egoists who only take what's given to them and generate nothing from within.

Depends on many factors such as career path, as mostly a rule I judge their ability to make rational and optimizing decisions on this basis and how well they seek or how much "drive" they have to obtain the knowledge to accomplish their goals, I am also more interested in how they cope, re-route and recuperate with and from failure and mistake, as well as ability to risks and managed them, which which is paramount to success, depending on career and "job" path, I am more interested in these factors and conflict resolution skills, as well as whether or not the person is equipped and taking necessary steps to get to where they need to be no matter if they are "educated plumber" or "drop-out millionaire".. I am more interested in whether their dreams align with reality and are feasible and/or attainable and/or they are invested relative to their career or job choice because they'll tell me more than enough to how his mind works

While education is important depending on the major, it does not guarantee skills you need to maintain, keep, and generate momentum to remain successful which is also what I check for, the desire to maintain or keep momentum not necessarily "education" unless it is obviously the most rational choice to reach your goals efficiently, you will be taking courses and practicing/learning your craft throughout your life outside of school if you want to go above and beyond, I wish it stopped at a college but it does not, for example the majority of good businesses fail because of lack of knowledge poorly/untaught in business school, so just "education" alone does not impress me in terms of a partner and as an educated/successful woman my eyes will glaze over and I will pass them up, I have passed up many educated potential partners for being smart but not very rational and a future pain in my side further down the line, it's better than selling woof tickets

Women will often say that men eventually want someone who is intelligent and “stimulates them mentally”.

I don’t disagree, but I also think men develop an intelligence floor much like women have an attraction floor. Accreditations don’t matter (and often times can be a net negative) but by intelligent I would say they want a woman who is smart with money, willing to learn about new things, and relationally smart enough to be a nurturing and caring mother/wife at some point (if you want kids). So it’s not as though a bunch of college degrees and what not get you in the door, it has to do with just not being incompetent.

I think college is only important for STEM or Law. Going to college for a business degree or any other useless degree is a waste of time and money. I don't place great value on whether or not a man is college educated, but he has to be knowledgeable and cultured by himself. I dislike people who's last book read was in high school.

At the same time, I would consider it a red flag and I wouldn't date someone who didn't finish high school. I meet someone who's married to a man who dropped out of school at 12 and doesn't even speak the language of the country he grew up in. To me, that shows that he's not very bright, almost retarded.

5, women tend to produce children with the same level of education as them. The father's education level is often irrelevant (imagine having a high IQ father that produces high IQ offspring that don't make it out of high school).

Because the mother's education level is important and not the father's I tend to lie about my educational attainment to get access to more highly educated women.

I tend to have more in common with someone who has some formal education beyond high school but there is no education that is necessary as long as they are a) curious/a learner b) a reader and c) can appreciate the value of a higher education as much as learning a trade.

It’s pretty close to a 5 for me. I’m generally not interested in a girl who didn’t graduate from college. I say “generally” because I know there are exceptions of highly intelligent people who didn’t graduate from college (e.g., Bill Gates). But 99.999999% of people aren’t the Bill Gates exception.

The other exception is obviously if she’s still in college. At 26 I’m past the age where I would date a girl in college, but I’ll still hook up with girls in college from the apps.

Also, education matters less for hookups overall.

5/5 that someone has had some form of education and is able to have intelligent conversations on a range of topics. I can't see myself dating someone who failed their GCSEs because we're just coming from very different levels. (Ideally they'd also have chosen to do A Levels or equivalent but if they had a good reason to choose against or were brought up in a different system it's not required.) If they chose to leave education after that then that's fine so long as they're in general an intelligent person who enjoys or at least doesn't hate learning even if outside of school or uni and has had some experience of independent living (which people often do at uni).
