Nothing.

Nothing would change.

I've been noticing a lot of opinions about wanting women to actively pursue men instead of passively sending them signals.

Women already send heavy IOIs to the guys they find attractive. Like heavy. Like she might as well be spread eagle and wave her cooch his way... coyly of course.

Those guys pick up on it immediately. Flirting ensues.

If women were to scrap the IOI thing and assertively walk up to a man and announce her interest, it would be the same man who would have grabbed her interest anyway.

Nothing about the SMP would change if women initiated.

It would just be made even more plain than it already is that women initiate with attractive men who likely weren't lacking female attention to begin with.

The remaining men would still have to initiate with a woman to convince her to to find him attractive since he isn't on her radar initially.

That said this isn't too terrible for those men because women, more so than men, respond to "great presence." So even if she wasn't checking for you before, once you're all up in her space and prove to be a masculine and debonair man, she may notice herself finding you more attractive than she initially even thought.
