Male status does not decline with age, it increases with age. Their pure LOOKS based SMV may decline with age, but unlike women, men have additional components to their SMV such as status, wealth, and power

How do you determine the status, mate value, of someone, yours or others? Is it more looks, or money, or popularity, or what?

Regarding mate value... Initially my opinion is based upon looks. This is a pass/fail test, however extra credit is available for extremely attractive individuals. Step two is to see if they are generally pleasant to be around or unpleasant to be around. Again, this is pass/fail with extra credit for extremely pleasant to be around people. If they pass both of those tests, I'm DTF. The more extra credit they got, the more interested in fucking I am.

For a more serious relationship (which isn't really my goal at this point), the third test would be for chemistry and shared interests.

As far as higher status/value males, do you feel respect, adoration, envy, jealousy?

Status is a relative position. If I am in a crowd that primarily appreciates things that either disinterest me, or that I find obnoxious, I will feel a sense of confusion at how other people value those traits, and would initially feel jealous and resentful. I would then study who the high status individuals in the group are and try to deduce the common denominators.

If I am in a like-minded group, higher status men make me feel slightly jealous, but mostly I feel a 'challenge' to rise and meet them. It can be extremely motivating.

Do you prefer to select friends of similar status/value or higher status/value?

All else being equal, I like having higher status friends. It motivates me to put more effort into things and opens more doors via networking opportunities and social proof.

What are your thoughts on your inevitable status/value decline after a certain age (post 30 or whatever age you think you can maintain your peak till)? do you plan to be the alpha of your senior gated community? or to go out more like hemingway?

As a Man, I am confident my sexual market value will only increase until 50 or so. I will be wealthier, have more social knowledge/better honed social skills, and have more interesting stories and experiences to demonstrate value.

After 50, I expect my body to start declining more rapidly. If my experiences, social knowledge, and wealth keep improving, I may be able to counterbalance my physical losses or slow the consequences.

Eventually I want my own tract of land, and I'll go out the king of my own castle.

It's something I can "just tell".

I choose to avoid people who do not live by strict monogamous marriage or celibacy, so I don't have to deal with competition for attractive mates. Competition instead is of an individual's merits.

Social status is not something you determine consciously, I can notice if someone has higher or lower status than me if I catch myself acting or feeling certain ways or who the group favors if there is a conflict. I think clear status is poison to lasting groups of friends and that there are mechanisms to obscure the relative status of group members (by making sure everyone has their thing that can't be quantified in relation to other group members). The Gervais Principle is a great read in arm-chair psychology by the way.
