I suspect most of the people who consider sex isn't a need are the same people who are having or have had a sex life that ranges from satisfying to intense (That's interesting. If my memory serves, I think I've also read some asexuals claiming this around here and that's interesting too). At the risk of sounding defiant, I'd bet the vast majority of these people (excluding asexuals, of course) couldn't handle a few months or years of loneliness and sexlessness without presenting serious mental breakdowns or worse things.

Yes, sex will never be on the level of breathing, sleeping or eating; however, I think for most of humanity it's a strong and primal psychological need; many don't realize this because as long as they have had an interest in sex they have had access to it. Technically you can live without hobbies, laughter, purpose or without being able to leave your house to do whatever (does anyone remeber 2020?), but it's undeniable that your quality of life will be greatly compromised.

What do you think?
