Women will (usually) only date men whose status she perceives as higher than hers. Thus, men will only date women of lower status.

When one achieves a college degree, they increase their position on the social ladder.

Therefore, when a man achieves a college degree, the amount of women who are below him increases dramatically. Yet when a woman achieves a college degree, there will only be so many men above her (pretty much only doctors/ceos/successful entrepreneurs/etc).

And this seems to be in tune with reality, as when a woman complains about not being able to find a suitable man to marry ("where did all the good men go?"), they're usually high-status, highly educated women. Analogally, low-status men find it much harder to get laid than high-status ones.

I have seen certain women date, or even marry men with less education than her, but only when the men has significantly higher SMV/attractiveness level.
