Previously I had argued that male contraceptives would solve a lot of modern problem between the sexes.

I've come to realize, advancement of medicine, is also the cause.

Sex was such a guarded thing back then, because the higher chance of pregnancy and childbirth (or abortion). There's no modern contraceptive, antibiotics, painkillers or safe abortion.

Child rearing, maternal death, psychological trauma post abortion etc. are monumental responsibility.

If you have a 50/50 chance of being pregnant everytime you have sex, you'd treat it differently.

That's why men, fathers, brothers, fight other men to the death, to protect their women.

The privilege to have sex is tied with oath to keep through pain and till death.

Now that's only part of it. There's also the emotional, familial and other aspects.

Modernity is irreversible, so with the benefits also comes the negative effects.

When the risks becomes so small, sex is less a huge thing but a "fun" activity.

The sense of responsibility is dim. And so its emotion also cheap.

It doesn't mean anything. It's just sex.

We can't pass up the benefits of medicine, certainly. But that's not to say it's without its side effects.

I guess the only thing stopping any person is what's inside them.

Just my opinions. Share me your thoughts.
