The above might sound like a "we live in a society" statement but overall I think the truest freedom a man can gain is to not give into pre-negotiated societal terms, when it comes to determining his "value". The term of value itself only holds true in a societal context too and the prerequisite is that you as a man have to prove something. But what if...you say no?

I know this is what MGTOW comes close too, maybe even advocates, but where it diverges is that it still derives a mans worth partially from his contributions to society. Now, I am not saying that dropping out of society is your only way of avoiding this, but this is just a reminder that no matter in what life situation you are, you are no better or worse than people a million dollars richer than you. Maybe on a material level, but as long as your needs are met, you are in one of the best position ever in human history.

I know this also comes close to the TRP concept of unplugging out of normalized social thinking, seeing it for what it is, but one of the most common things you hear repeated is to build business, self improvement etc.. Why? If you truly, truly want that, if you thought about what your own values are, not what is dictated to you, then yes, it is a worthwhile pursuit. Especially if you are in a country like America, where social systems are non-existant and being poor might mean being dead.

What I am saying boils down to: Value only exists in our heads. Superiority or inferiority doesn't exist. Admiration by others is empty and overall participating in society has become optional (in some countries, not all). If you are happy smoking weed and playing video games, if you truly have let loose of all value terms placed on you by society, can't you be happy? Self-improvement in itself is a vanity project that only serves to alleviate the burden we place on ourselves.

There certainly are biological aspects to men having a drive to do things, but then again, who says what that has to be used for? Problem is that most of us live for things that in essence cage us, while we say how free we are doing these things. We can all say we lift for ourselves, we earn money for ourselves, that we choose our life, but often that is to just feel like we have a choice.
