Nothing. It's totally legal and common where I live. In some neighbourhoods there a brothel on every corner. The SMP is indistinguishable from the US and men still seek out normal casual sex and relationships and marriage with normal women.

Nothing would happen. Prostitution is already legal in the Netherlands, Australia and other Western countries, but men who have used their services, let alone on a regular basis, are in the minority.

Sex to many men is the prize they get in the courting/seduction game. There's no prize to be won when the sex is being paid for. Moreover, prostitution doesn't satisfy the need for companionship or emotional support.

Men who can’t attract women for sex would be a little less vitriolic assuming that they could afford the brothels, but they’d still be complaining that women don’t want to have sex with them without payment. Men want to be attractive enough that women will have willingly have sex with them without payment.

It depends. I think if its widely available prices will come down as they have even now when its available to various extents legally in a few places and stuff like Craigslist Arrangements are more common. Once it crosses a certain threshold the price would basically compete with a trip to the movies or something I guess.

You would probably get a lot of dudes who would use it, thats a given.

The other effect is probably that if the industry is busy and needs not much training and makes money either on volume or catching "whales" is a lot of women would flock to it. What that would mean long term is harder to say.

The shy loser men of society would rely on prostitution instead of trying to date. Most men would probably do it at least once in their lives. Women would be able to conveniently make some money as sex workers if they choose that route. Law enforcement would have to crack down on sex trafficking and pimping of course.

I think it would be a net positive for society as a whole. People are already doing it in some form (like sugar dating) so making it legal and out in the open would just make it easier.

I’m pro-legalization but I don’t think prostitution would end the apparent epidemic of loneliness. It might give some men a tool to cope and it would make it safer for the sex workers, so there is that, but I can’t imagine paying someone to have sex with you fills the void of wanting to be loved. Also I would anticipate an uptick of STDs and single motherhood.

It would only cause issues if advertisement for these became normalized and mainstream. Once there's money involved in promoting it out in the open, that would be the end of normal relationships as we know them.

Almost none. Sex is only satisfying if both parties want to be there. I dont want to have sex with someone experiencing whatever i feel when i clock in to work every day. Even if i did, it would feel empty.

It would need to be highly regulated and therefore highly taxed. So it would likely be expensive. It would still carry similar stigma, especially for married guys. I've done prostitutes before and it doesn't fix your loneliness although it can definitely be enjoyable. There would be huge problems with the black market still, with "imported" women aka human traffic slipping under the radar to fuel discount style places.

Probably it would be more bother than it's worth.

If there were freelance amateur prostitutes (brothels are a bit different) then men would be less desperate. Even brothels could make men less desperate, but it depends on the price and the quality of the girls. If it costs $500 to for 2 minutes of starfish sex with an ugly 50 year old woman in a brothel, then a lot of men will prefer to chase regular women. But if it cost $20 for hot sex with a hot 20 year old, brothels will be a more attractive option. Men will still chase regular women, but they'll be less desperate and will have higher standards. There would be less of the bullshit you see where ugly women get tsunami'd with messages and dick pics online by men with no standards looking for easy sex.
