In the current diet, only 8% of the parliament seats are hold by women. Moreover, Japan has had no female head of state since the establishment of a parliament in the late 19th century.

This numbers seem quite shocking, but actually Japan has established a very good basis for empowerment in all areas of life for women. A high number (56%) of women is attending tertiary education such as universities and specialized schools. Japanese women are more educated and skilled than ever before. They hold their own bank accounts and have good health. However, at some point most of the female population drops out of the system and their potentials are being overlooked.

Behavioral sink:

The ethologist John B. Calhoun coined the term "behavioral sink" to describe the collapse in behavior which resulted from overcrowding. Over a number of years, Calhoun conducted over-population experiments on rats which culminated in 1962 with the publication of an article in the Scientific American of a study of behavior under conditions of overcrowding. In it, Calhoun coined the term "behavioral sink". again if japan is more traditional than other industrialized nations, why would it be suffering more from non-traditional post feminism social ills than less traditional industrialized nations?

i let it go last time, on account of you being you, but this is a non-serious line of inquiry that doesn't merit being entertained. The entire premise is that the only effect of feminism is that women entered the workforce, which is not a fucking effect of feminism, nor the one any men except your strawmen take issue with. so you are taking the last sentence of one of my posts and then ignoring everything else i say.

much could be said about similarities between japan's and western anti-marriage problem, such as;

the sexes are extremely non-polarized, with both tending to skew towards pretending they are the other. in japan, men being effeminate and leaving male gender roles far more than women take male ones.
effeminate males often feel as if they are unattractive or hopeless at recieving what they crave; attraction, adoration, etc(most porn here actually does away with disbelief that these emotions can be elicited by depicting the woman being forced so that the viewer doesn't have to worry if she loves him or not. this also does away with the touchy topic of approach. otherwise, effort is made to 'over-correct' and create a compelling feeling that she is genuinely interested or loving or attracted. there is no middle ground or assumed benefit of doubt. there is real cynicism to the idea that women are attracted to you or truly love you which jives with the average shy, japanese guy's insecurities really badly).
women being viewed as bad investments. i.e. 'unpure', likely to cheat, likely to manipulate or cause emotional pain, being unreliable and hard to understand, etc
relationships with women being seen as poor rewards. i.e. cynicism with concept of romantic love, dislike of women's demands of their partners, view of women being unwilling to entertain men's demands, view of romantic relationships becoming too complicated, view of sex as something too casual and not intimate, in some cases, something used to manipulate, etc
economic disincentives
