Because they're afraid of being judged and of the shame of rejection.

Nobody likes it when other people don't like them.

Women are adapted to be more responsive to group social dynamics and consensus. Men are used to competing for their status in the group and shaming is typically used on those who are already low status or on the margins. For women shaming and social exclusion would have had more serious consequences.

On average, men and women have different levels of self-concern and other-concern. Men are, on average, more concerned about appearing to have high status and may be able to demonstrate this status by acting independently from the opinions of others. On the other hand, and again although there are substantial individual differences among them, women are, on average, more concerned with connecting to others and maintaining group harmony. Taken together, this means that, at least when they are being observed by others, men are likely to hold their ground, act independently, and refuse to conform, whereas women are more likely to conform to the opinions of others in order to prevent social disagreement. These differences are less apparent when the conformity occurs in private (Eagly, 1978, 1983).

Women really, really care about social conformity and maintaining group harmony. Being judged or socially shamed is like the anti-feminine in that it suggests she is disrupting social harmony and being antagonistic to group norms.

Because they lack any kind of their own physical strength so they rely on the strength of others to defend them. A woman who doesnt fit into her society is at a huge risk of being taken advantage of by men who would do her harm. A man has a lot more leeway in being deemed as a douchebag because he has more of an ability to defend himself, by himself.

Humans are social animals. Not only does being ostracized suck from a mental and emotional point of view, in extreme situations it can be lethal. So if you want an evo-psych answer, people who fear judgment are afraid of being abandoned.

Women have far less physical strength than men and, throughout the entirety of the human condition, they had to rely on the rest of the group for protection and survival. Losing that group protection through a poor reputation or social status essentially acted as a death sentence. Even though we're not cave men anymore, we've carried all that baggage to the modern day.

That's basically why women are afraid of judgement and shame, and why they tend to be sensitive to social trends.

It’s hard-wired.

One time a close girl friend of mine moved to a new town. The popular girls invited her on a play date (they were like 13 years old). When my friend arrived there all the girls that had invited her ran away. My friend had to miss several days of school, cried all week, and said it was one of the most hurtful thing that ever happened to her. This is a good example of “female violence” : exclusion.

I believe there have been studies that “being excluded” can be as painful for women as being physically attacked is for men.

TLDR: To be excluded from the tribe meant death in the hunter-gatherer era for women.
