From my understanding the lgbt makes up a very small percentage of the dating market. So they wouldn’t be noticeable amongst the majority of heterosexuals on these subreddits.

I would like to add that a lot of us here don’t need to use these subs. We just like to talk shit.

Gay men have it so easy sex and dating wise in the developed west so long as they live in a big city which tend towards being liberal. They have more sex, are happier, least % of domestic abuse, and half the divorce rate of lesbians (which should mean gays have a bit less than 1/4 the divorce rate of straight couples). Women see this and say "just be gay" because they have no means of arguing with how all their shaming and insults at men fall apart with this data besides the traditional homophobic attack they love to fall back on.

men and women are different creatures with different priorities. men are always going to wish women were horny and indiscriminate with sex, and women are always going to wish men were monogamous and romantic.

two men coming together are on the same page and will happily do all the depraved sexual shit they can think of. two women coming together will cuddle and talk endlessly about their feelings and spend all weekend at the farmer's market.

The gay sexual market is the opposite of the straight one, with bottoms being low value and tops being high value, which means there's no incentive for tops to settle. The competition between bottoms is downright dystopian, hence all the steroid use, eating disorders and hypersexuality.

From what I can see, there's more "equality" in their relationships. My cousin was with a man before she was with her current girlfriend. She came out after giving birth to her ex's two kids. The woman she's with treats her way better than any man I've ever been with has treated me. She treats my cousin's kids like her own and they seem to share household chores equally.

That's not to say that same-sex couples don't have their struggles. I have a friend who is a lesbian whose girlfriend recently left her for a woman she was cheating on her with. While I realize that these are just two samples of a larger population, I sometimes wonder if I should just switch teams. I'm a bit envious of my cousin at times for how well her partner treats her.

Because fds, redpill, purple pill, and traditional dating all operate under traditional roles of gender performance which makes connecting for us much harder in a increasingly changing society.

Lgbt already operate outside of that gender performance, so they don’t have rules and “Icks” based on gender performance or lack there of.

Also the stakes are lower since accidental babies aren’t at play.

I think you're on to something, OP. We tend to emphasize the real differences that exist between men and women, and we invent some that don't exist or are so rare as to be not too meaningful.

Then when we try to relate, we do the human thing and attribute too much to the real and exaggerated or imagined differences.

It gets pretty tribal.

Lesbian and gay folx dont interact with a skewed gender power dynamic when they are dating. They have their own issues. But there isn't any inherent intersexual competition or gender role dynamics to fuck things up further.

One thing that I think lesbian and gay individuals have over hetero's is that they are much more cognizant of the important of looks. There isn't another gender to lie to in your dating pool about your actions vs what you say your actions are.

One thing I have always wondered is why is that most bisexual people one up in hetero pairings. Is it heteronormativity and its expectations? There seems to be a lot less hatred in the lgbt community towards it's own members than there is between men and women in general
