I don’t know much about the FDS but I don’t know anyone who feels that way about porn being the fault of men and the patriarchy.

It’s a multi billion dollar industry, they don’t care if jack Russell terriers watch it as long as they pay for it. It’s a product for a consumer, much like any other product out there.

This is like when men argue that Victoria secret is featuring fat models in underwear and it’s because feminists are pushing an agenda to make men more attracted to fat women. No, it’s to increase their consumer base and make more money because they know the majority of women are not size 0 and hence will not buy size 0 underwear. It has nothing to do with feminism or even body positivity, and everything to do with profit and appealing to a wider market.

I agree that at least in most of the cases relevant to us in first world countries this is a personal choice. But to be honest when other girls talk about how porn isn't ethical to the girls in it, I dont think that's genuine. I think most of us just feel repulsed at the guy who gets off on certain type of things just how you're repulsed by girls who do them. and for the rest of it, some are just bothered by porn (watching other girls) in general. I think that's perfectly fine and everyone should stop pretending it's for some moral high ground and actual care about those porn stars well being.

I believe that the existence of pornography, in its current form, is ugly and wrong.

But doling out the appropriate amount of blame for every participant is beyond human capacity: that's the work of a deity.

Ideally, men would control their lust and avoid porn. But all humans, men and women, are weak to temptation. And electronic porn is like the perfect temptation to men. The point is that ultimately it is society as a whole that bears responsibility for the existence of porn, and both men and women bear responsibility for the configuration of society.

As things are, most women who do porn fall prey to the temptation of easy money and are ultimately the worse for it. So they are in a sense victims.

But the men who use porn are also falling prey to temptation and are also the worse for it. They are victims too.

So most participants in the porn phenomenon are perpetrators and victims at the same time. It's just a bad situation all around.

Porn is an industry that exploits trauma. I read somewhere that 1/3 of women doing porn have suffered some form of sexual assault / rape / molestation.

The problem with this whole argument boils down to the last paragraph. Men don’t want their daughters, sisters, wives, mothers doing it but so long as it’s some random they’ll still beat off to it anyway. And if men will still continue to watch it, women will continue to do it. Could you argue women are exploiting men’s horniness and loneliness for financial gain? Well, yeah. But maybe it’s about time we, as men, started exercising some actual self control.

I agree that a majority of women are not forced into the industry. Actual porn perhaps, but there’s so many “girl next door” types jumping onto only fans now just to make extra cash. Pretty sure it’s official that girls offering stuff on there has increased a lot during this whole pandemic. Really however you need to separate the porn industry and the sex work industry when having this discussion.

Do I think it’s a good thing that many more women are seeking to make a quick buck from nudes? Not really. But it’s their choice. Plus you’d have to be delusional not to realise that most of the girls who have now signed up to only fans were the ones posting barely clothed pictures on Instagram anyway. They’ve realised they can make money taking advantage of simps and taken it a little step further. They were semi nude in most of their own photos and showing their ass off at any opportunity for free so this is a natural step for financial reward. Plus you get all that lovely dopamine from the attention coupled with money. Win-win.

To be honest men need a mass educational programme on the realities of simping, thirsting and social media. The problem with that is you’re fighting against the leftist narrative that women selling themselves as sexual objects is “empowerment” and any pushback against that is seen as anti-feminist and misogynistic (see the debate around Cardi B’s latest track and the accompanying video). You had me in the first half, not gonna lie. I totally agree doing porn is a woman's choice (except for in situations of coercion and trafficking, which I'm not talking about)

But damn, how easy do you think sex work is?

Regardless of the morality of it, sex work is often pretty intense physical labor.

I tried pole dancing once just for fun and I thought I was gonna DIE. I was an artists' model and would pose nude and it was exhausting and surprisingly physically painful. And anyone who has been plowed out several times in the same day knows what that can do to a body.

I occasionally teach masterclasses to help adults --mostly women but some couples-- connect with their sexuality and level up the pleasure they give and receive, and even that is a shedload of work.

So if there's a LIFE IS EASY NOW button, it's not found in sex work.

As to the not being able to find a "real man" and getting "wifed up", assuming those are goals in the first place, I think you're right in that it can make it more difficult.

But there are so many different types of sex work it's hard to make a blanket statement like that. To me, if a guy participates in the "desire industry" (porn, camgirls, whatever) but has a problem being with a sex worker or someone who had done sex work in the past that's kinda on him.

As to the having kids thing, it can go either way.

If you're doing porn because you're recreating trauma from your past that you haven't addressed, then no you're probably not going to be in the best headspace to have a kiddo. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing positive sex work and want to make an only fans to share that with people and make some money doing something you enjoy...that doesn't preclude you from being a good parent.

What kind of "porn"? If you are talking about OnlyFans, cam models, twitch ho's, etc, etc yes these women DO choose this life and they love every ounce of it.

I KNOW many of these women personally and they love that shit and male attention. They live for it and do not want "boyfriends" telling them what to do unless they accept what they are on. Porn isn’t profitable for most women and can be life ruining. A lot of them really aren’t choosing. The ones that are choosing aren’t the ones feminists are concerned about.

Without the demand for porn, and with adequate career opportunities for women, very few would choose to do it.

97% of women want out of sex work and report higher rates of PTSD than soldiers. Sexual degradation is traumatic, and too many women in sex work have previously been sexually traumatized by men and are trying to ‘gain mastery’ through it. Then self-proclaimed decent guys are getting off to it. This is how all men benefit from women being abused and that’s why it’s a systemic issue.

I’ve been in the sex industry and worked as crew in porn. It’s an incredibly sad, messed up, isolating scene of broken people who are getting fucked up constantly to deal with it. Most of them aren’t that bright. All of them get a few STI’s it’s basically guaranteed. The testing is to protect the porn companies. Many of them die young. All trafficked women are forced to do porn.

It’s just an ugly meat grinder for women. Men aren’t much affected by it because nearly all porn guys are sociopaths.

It's actually really hard to make a financially viable OnlyFans account- the ratio of available porn to buyers is such that is requires an aggressively cultivated social media presence and advertising.

Any look at the ratio of earners shows that most OF accounts don't break even for the effort the owner puts into them.

And that's the really funny part about adult work- it's actually quite challenging to make a decent living out of it. Not only is it hard to maintain any copyright or control over your work after creation, with rampant piracy, but the average nude set really doesn't draw in much attention- there are billions of tits, and most women have two.

The fantasy is easy pickings, but as with all sales, the audience of purchasers is generally looking to feel it has a relationship with the seller. I'm in a parallel industry (I write porn) but have a lot of overlap with other more traditional sex workers and our modus operandi is pretty much the same- sales and searchability rule.

And, more than that, in a sea of girls next door, big titty goth girlfriends, red heads, dommes, babies, etc... the competition really flips back to the personal touch.

The bizarre part is that contrary to "real men" shunning you, having an overt, our there, sexy personality including explicitly slutty behaviour in the performance sense doesn't particularly work against your ability to get people to try to have a relationship with you.
