This is coming off a post about double standards on n count. The crux of the debate was that getting sex and dates is easier for women.

Currently the very strong trend is this:

  1. Men chase women and

  2. Women choose from the pool of men that opted to chase her.

A common complaint I hear from some women is the failure to attract a quality man, not recognising the lack of effort they put in to do so. In this case, approaching or making the first move.

I think more women should empower themselves to become chasers as well as selectors. Why? Because the benefit of chasing is the following:

  • Creating the selection of suitable partners is better than waiting for that to be decided for you (I compare to waiting for a salesman to knock on your door as opposes to travelling to the mall) A better selection leads to greater chance of satisfaction

  • Women who do make the first move report better satisfaction (sources pending) with those men

  • Appreciation and empathy for what majority of men go through

  • Women attracted to shy guy types they can snag themselves one

This is primarily about women currently unsatisfied with the type of men that approach them. Also women who are attracted to the very type of man most unlikely to approach them.
