I’d say most women don’t really ‘see’ men’s attractiveness unless it’s bold and stands out, but it doesn’t mean they find most men “unattractive”

Since the status quo is for men to approach, we tend to be more on a “lookout” or “hunting” mindset on a day-to-day basis, meaning men can see more and actually have judgements on what they look at (although fat/very plain women often register as ‘invisible’ to a lot of guys).

It’s more of a traffic light system.

Green - he stands out in some way, either through attractiveness or positive behaviour

Amber - he is practically invisible, triggering no response or second glance.

Red - repulsed, stands out in a bad way (via attractiveness or behaviour). Automatic no.

Most men are in Amber status, they are a ‘maybe’ but not really even considered or noticed until they do something to stand out to the individual woman.
