It really depends on what you're looking for.

If you want to get your rocks off, then for most guys, the standards are pretty low. Young, old, fat, skinny, rich, poor. The types of guys who get laid because they like sex are usually the happiest -- you won't find them on this sub.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple for many, including myself. Because if it was really about getting your rocks off, you'd just watch porn or fuck a 3 and call it a night. Sex, and particularly casual sex in the West, is primarily about validation -- both for oneself and from others.

I banged a few really attractive girls right out of high school. The physical experiences themselves were alright (you're 18 so anything is good) but it was the social experience of being with them, being seen with them, and knowing that I was "worthy" of an attractive person's affections that really satisfied me. Even if you don't consistently hook up with hot girls, the emphasis on body count for men under 25 is still somewhat prevalent. It's because it's not about the physical action of sex for many men -- it's about what that sex means in the social hierarchy and how one perceives themselves when they get it.

So just "banging older women" certainly satisfies the former need, but doesn't satisfy the need for intrinsic and social approval conferred by sex with younger women. Younger women tend to be hotter, more carefree, and less inclined to date for things like money and status -- they're attracted to people based off how they feel, and often that's physical attraction. This fulfills that need for validation, and is the reason that sex with older women doesn't quite do the same.

Older women can be just as picky as the younger ones. Difference they are at the point where they have their lives together (house, car, etc.), but also have more baggage, like past relationships and kids, something you're going to have to be prepared to work around, unlike a younger woman with less of it. Most men are simple and don't want to deal with with women who have extras, such as her coming off a bitter divorce.

For getting laid? Sure. Then some old broken down woman is fine for that. I've dated older women, and although the idea that they have money seems to either require daddy.gov or husband.ex, or credit-card-debt.swipe, that does not necessarily translate to a relationship. Are you really going to start a family with a 45 year old former bar floozie who has been through the divorce ringer? Because that's pretty much what's out there.

I can confirm what you are saying. I've been on dating apps for years and only went for girls my age or younger and almost never got anywhere with them.
