So I (20M) went out partying with a few buddies and we all came back wasted. I live with my girlfriend and I came home extremely drunk. My friends put me to bed and left. My girlfriend (19F) had two or three friends over.
I ended up throwing up on myself and my girlfriend came to check up on me and saw some puke on me. So she and her friends lugged me to the bathroom, took all my clothes off, and gave me a bath. Like a scrubbing everything with a sponge bath, butt naked. I was semi-conscious at the time and half aware of what was happening but barely able to move. I mumbled “Stop” and “No” a few times but I don’t think they really heard. Even drunk me was humiliated to be naked in front of all my girlfriend’s face.
So they washed me then put me to bed with a blanket over me, without putting clothes on me. I woke up hungover the next day and could see I was naked under the covers. I immediately put clothes on and my girlfriend and her friends had slept over (they were doing a movie night thing) and they were already up. They all started giggling and I felt super self conscious. One of them complimented me and said I was handsome.
I told them I was totally not okay with what they did. Their expressions immediately changed and they all started yelling they just helped me and I had no leg to stand on. I reiterated they were not allowed to wash me without my consent especially if I was able to talk and I was going to be talking to someone about it. They freaked out but I pushed past them and left. I haven’t gone back yet but I’ve been getting tons of texts begging me not to do anything. They keep saying when you’re drunk friends are supposed to help you out and clean you up. So now I’m asking: should I? Should I do something about this? What do I do? Am I wrong to feel exposed?

I don’t know about you but my first response wouldn’t be to invite a couple of my buds to come sponge down my wife in the bath after she came home piss drunk with vomit on her. Then the next morning we could all laugh at her when she comes out and we are thinking of her nude body, and one of my buddies says “you sure are pretty.” What the fuck is appropriate about that? Does that sound like having someone’s best interest in mind?
Let’s pretend I couldn’t carry her: if anything, I’d ask them to help me set her in the tub then leave, I’m pretty sure I can undress her and wash her on my own. Then redress her before having them help me carry her to bed. Better yet? They don’t even need to come in the room, I can take off her soiled clothes/sheets and use a wet rag to clean her up.
Are you serious? It would be no different if Barbara chose to drive her car, THEN a separate thing happened (let’s say someone decided to run her off the road into a telephone pole). Or let’s say Barbara chose to go on a flight that happened to be on 9/11 and she got slammed into the twin towers, her fault right??? Just cause Barbara chooses to drive a car, get drunk, or fly in an airplane doesn’t mean that people can violate her rights or break the law.

Let’s say Barb was driving over the speed limit, racing to the bar to go get drunk. Someone is driving slower in front of her so she swerves around them angrily and flips them off. Is Barb being stupid? Of course. But that doesn’t mean that someone should sentence her to death by ramming her off the road.
Or let’s say she was on the plane ride on her way to go visit the #1 strip club and get blackout drunk. Does that make it any better or worse than if she was going to lose her job?
You seem to be either very biased against alcohol or completely lacking empathy. If you tell your son to look both ways before crossing the road, he doesn’t, then gets hit by a car and paralyzed; is your first response “hey dumbass why didn’t you look both ways when I clearly told you so??”
My point is that just because someone makes a bad choice doesn’t mean they deserve to be killed, raped, abused, etc. Does a kid poking a bees nest deserve to get stung? Sure maybe he’ll learn a valuable lesson. But the consequence is on a scale similar to his “stupidity”. I think what most people are saying is that getting sexually abused probably isn’t a fitting consequence for gettin blackout drunk. I don’t think anyone would be upset if instead, the girlfriend said “I asked you not to come home drunk because I don’t like it, now I’m dumping you. “
