There is a culture of base bunnies trying to find newly enlisted men to shack up with. Once this person is deployed, they suck his bank account dry. This is common knowledge and every CO discourages recruits from getting involved with any woman who live near a base.

Pretty much it was always well known that if you are married or have a gf and you deploy. They are going to cheat on you almost immediately. In fact most of us are told to give powers of attorney's to someone you can trust like a lawyer etc... and have them constantly visit the house so they can either catch them in the act of cheating or at least prevent the woman from stealing everything the guy owns which is pretty much the outcome for 99% of the cases.

Sadly these women are called dependapotamus's and whats worse is they can do this over and over and over again because guys in a military town are in over abundance but there aren't many women so most guys standards drop drastically while these women's attractiveness equally drops as they get extremely fat.

They are experts in ripping you off, and making it seem as if they are the victims because "You left me(and the kids)" or " I just felt so alone and needed someone to make me feel good again ". Amazingly they seem to think that the deployment is nothing but high end hotels with hookers on every side street or w/e so there's non-stop parties and just such a blast. It is a blast but thats usually from the mortars or rockets that are getting fired at you. There aren't be another point in your life where you won't feel more alone then when you're deployed. It's why there's a huge suicide rate on deployments. It's such a stressful time and all the places you go are so so so fucking shitty. Then you get to deal with your significant other who's back at home in the comfort of the US complaining to you about how lonely she is and that "we need to talk".

Military marriages have a 99% failure rate and there's just something about being married to a military member that makes you feel so fucking entitled that you even feel as if it's your right to cheat on your love one who's deployed.

Oh well sorry about the rant.

I remember hearing tell of the tide boxes in Canada. A wife whose husband was deployed would put a tide box in the window, which signalled she would 'entertain' anyone who came knocking. When it started the husbands were in on it, but it wasnt long before wives would just cheat using the same method. The problem with the tide boxes though was that the betrayed hubby would find out his wife was a tide box wife, and the shit would hit the fan. Thus the tide box became a non-cheating/open wife signal, and other more secret signals were cooked up by the cheating wives.

Pretty hard to tell if satire of not. If not, these people are garbage human beings. If it's all a joke that the entire group is in on, it doesn't make sense why posts with different viewpoints were getting up-votes in the group too. And what's the point of circle-jerking satire amongst yourselves in a closed group. I've never known women to be particularly adept at satire, let alone women like the ones you see posting in this group. It seems as though it's a handful of women brigading the article comment section in order to damage control. But I can't really say either way.
