Hi All,

Reddit as a whole is getting hammered with a wave of spam. Since we are lazy and your reports of spam annoy the fuck out of us I put a few things in place.

  1. To target the user: I changed the automod rules following a guide posted in a moderator help sub. If spam still gets through I will tweak the rules. If a valid post gets caught just send a mod mail and we will fix it. I expect some teething problems on this.

  2. To Target the domain: SEO_Nuke is the rebirth of SEO_Killer. It basically targets the domain links to rather than the user. This can be achieved through automod but means someone has to update the list everytime a new one pops up. This bot basically removes that hassle as hundreds of subs report in spam on emergent domains. As this bot just came alive again today the list is small but will grow as it gets data.

I personally do not like automod. I have kept the rules very basic intentionally so hopefully we wont get any drama bombs when a legit post gets removed. I think the two pronged approach will work.

Any problems please let me know.
