Think of this more as a topic to discuss posed as a question.
In the garden of Eden, we're aware of how things went, with Adam following his wife's lead into eating the fruit. (Genesis 3)
What if he had been mate guarding her from the serpent?
Assuming the serpent is male, there are a few ways of looking at this (probably more i can't see).
- Adam mate guards Eve from the serpent. Eve follows Adams lead. (2 perfect people still in the garden).
- Adam mate guards, but Eve sees the serpent as more alpha, and follows the serpents lead (1 perfect person, 1 fallen person in the garden)
- Eve mate guards herself (not sure how, she might have said "let me ask my husband" or just turned her back on him etc) (2 perfect people still in the garden)
- Adam still gets involved, and disobeys God commands anyways, and leads Eve into a bad path (2 fallen people in the garden)
Had this thought and wanted to see what you guys think.
