1) join r/nofap 2) be honest with yourself about the damage porn is doing to your sex life. Do you really believe that it's harmful to you or do you think it's just something that you probably shouldn't do but isn't that bad? One thing that really made me realize how harmful porn is was reading that after enough time, men that watch porn regularly can't get erections at all without it. But there is other negative impacts too. Recognition of the damage porn can do will help you a lot. 3) don't spend large amounts of your day alone on your phone/computer. If you have that much free time you need to exercise more or get a hobby or something. 4) exercise. The hormones release from lifting is very healthy and you should be doing it anyway. 5) do you have a lot of stress in your life? If so deal with the stress, and find some sort of outlet. For me, lifting and shooting guns is my stress release. 6) no compromises. You need to 100% commit. So no looking at pictures of women in swimsuits, etc and no looking at porn for a short period of time and then stopping. No watching movies or TV shows that you know have nudity. No Instagram or other social media that has soft core stuff. 7) hold yourself accountable. At a minimum, this means acknowledging your sins to God when you mess up and doing penance. As a penance, maybe make a donation to a charity, or give up drinking for a week, or do some volunteer work that you usually avoid. Some people find having a person to be accountable to is helpful. OYS is a good way to hold yourself accountable. 8) it will get easier over time, but it will also require complete dedication over time too. Don't slack off just because you've gone a week without porn. 9) there's nothing wrong with viewing real women sexually. That means you aren't gay. Don't feel guilty about being attracted to women. 10) masturbating obviously isn't beneficial for anything, but doing it without porn is much better than with porn in my opinion.

The Bible is clear that you can't stop a bad habit. The evil just returns as you mentioned and even worse than before. You have to "fill your house" so that the evil spirits are crowded out. When they return, they find your house is full and protected.

But what does that mean in practice. Your porn usage likely follows a pattern. A time, a place, etc. You need to fill those things up with Christ, with lifting, with service. Put software blocks on your tech and ask a brother to keep you accountable. Stop staying up late, stop all the things that put you close to that issue. Fill up your house.

Most people know that getting rid of porn is bad (take off the old self), but it must be replaced with the new self.

Focusing on stopping the old self only tempts you to continue to be stuck in your old habits: you keep thinking about it so it's a temptation and it's way easy to fall back into it.

This is why we always keep harping God's mission for you, and development of the Christian walk in OYS. For example...

To do this, it would be helpful to get to know how you're doing in a variety of areas. To that end, just as God is triune, he created us with three core parts of our being: our physical bodies, our heart/mind, and our spirit/soul. Try to cover all three. Use the questions in each category as inspiration, but roll with whatever you need to put out there.

PHYSICAL: How are you doing with lifting? Losing weight? Where's your body fat %? What have you been eating lately? How about your porn/alcohol/drug/cigarette/whatever use? Are you employing kino on your wife properly? Are you going too far with your girlfriend? How's your fashion sense? Are you still lounging around the house in gym shorts and using your ratty flip flops when you go out? How are you spending your time? How's your income doing? Your body is God's temple: are you reflecting that appropriately? For married men: how's your sex life?

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL: How have you been doing reading and learning new things? How's your frame? Do you still struggle with living up to someone else's expectations? Have you mastered Agree & Amplify? Amused Mastery? Negative Inquiry? STFU? Your DNGAF attitude? Are you failing fitness or comfort tests? How are you leading your wife/girlfriend this week? Do you feel pressure from any sources to do something or to act/not act a certain way? Are you depressed or lonely? Are you secure in your heart/mind that God's will is good, even if it's not what you want?

SPIRITUAL: How are you doing on the 7 basics? Rank yourself: Assurance of Salvation, Quiet Time/Devotional, Bible Study, Scripture Memory, Prayer, Evangelism, Fellowship. Have you solidified your mission - and does it have eternal consequences or does it only affect this world? Does your mission extend beyond the home? Do you have someone discipling you? Are you discipling anyone else? Have you talked with your non-Christian friends about Christ recently? Are there parts of the Bible you're just not understanding? How are things going with your church or small group?

You must be replacing the old habits/self with the new self. All of the things in the Spiritual category are a good place to start, but the physical and mental/emotional can help too. Focus on developing the new self and the old habits will fall away because you're not focusing on them anymore.

I watched porn for 15+ years and couldn't break it by doing it myself or trying to avoid temptation. It was only when I stopped focusing on it and focused on my mission for God and having a one track mind toward it that I was able to be set free.

TL;DR stop focusing on trying to stop the habits of the old self as it's easy for thinking about those habits to tempt you back into doing it. Start focusing on developing the new self and putting all your efforts toward it.

For me personally it was a combination of things. Believing that through God all things are possible. Understanding that it shouldn't be the guilt and shame that occurs afterwards that stops me from doing it, but a love of God and wanting to follow Him. Meditation, prayer, and deep thinking about the fact that me watching pornography and masturbating to it were part of the reason my savior had to die on a cross.

Something else I've had to spend time on is understanding that my body will still have sexual impulses. That is normal and natural, but it doesn't mean I have to fire up the phone to a website. It just means I go try and get some from the wife and if that doesn't work I find something productive to do. I don't even think about porn anymore.

That's what worked for me, idk if it's the same for everyone but maybe it's worth a shot for you.

In addition to the other advice provided, I'll give you some specific prayer suggestions that helped me conquer masturbation and lust.

How do your prayers sound? Do they sound like the prayers of someone who is more than a conqueror in Christ (Romans 8:37), who knows that the one in them is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4)?

WEAK PRAYER: "God please help me not sin today. You know how weak I am and that I struggle with lust in particular. Please help me to avoid these temptations today and prevent my thoughts from straying. Amen."

STRONG PRAYER: "Thank you Jesus for setting me free from sin. I know that because of your sacrifice I'm no longer bound to sin and that I am made righteous. I know that because I am righteous sin has no control over me. You have given me all I need to avoid temptation, including through the fruits of the spirit that you've given me, such as self control. Amen"

Once I started praying this kind of prayer each morning, this area of my life and other areas improved. Having a mission and spending regular time with the Lord, in addition to other recommendations are also profoundly helpful. But this in particular is what helped me see that I was already set free and my behaviour changed soon after.

Short answer: The Holy Spirit. Letting the spirit overcome the flesh.

Long answer:
Knowing God knows everything, my mind, my thoughts, my desires. Knowing the armor of God and that I will need to use His word as my sword, just as Jesus spoke Scripture when tempted in the dessert. After repenting whenever I do fall in lust, whether it was for a woman in my mind or whatever I saw, like a particular pornstar I was attracted too.

This is one verse that helps me:

" No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it."

I try to focus on bearing God's fruit:

" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

I escaped pornography very young because of God's grace and His power. I'm 28-ish and its been, perhaps, 14 years of freedom. I now try to seek God's face every morning in prayer, going quickly to repent if I've done any sin, including lust but not limited to lust.

Now, I have a lot of saved friends who struggle and talk to me about it. We try to build each other up and encourage each other. One guy told me he started to read God's word and it helps him overcome his lust/porn issues too.

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! :) God bless! :)

I personally believe a lot of it is symptomatic of something greater. Bible study and Sidebar material help. Daily walk in the Holy Ghost. A lot of that lifestyle is Instant Gratification in a nutshell. Most Red Pill mentality is delayed gratification and OYS as a man to not go for quick fixes. Best of regards to you.

There's a few things that you need to do. First reframe your perception of what porn is. Sex is fine and normal, porn isn't. Imagine if that was someone that you knew and cared about doing that on film.

Second, understand why you're getting these urges. You got testosterone flowing in you and you don't have an appropriate outlet for it. Find better outlets for that energy.

Third, reconfigure your environment so that it better facilitates you not engaging with porn. This might be relocating your computer, using blockers on your browser, knowing what your triggers are and how to avoid them, or even better utilizing those in a constructive way, e.g. when you get the urge go for a run or stretch or whatever, but go do that in a different room.

Anyway these things helped me, hope you find something that works for you.

I believe that the scenario Jesus describes above is of a time when life is normal, people eating, drinking, and marrying, and people are able to work, e.g., the men in the field and the women grinding at the mill, without having to take the mark of the beast. Recently, we’ve seen Bill Gates promote a biometric quantum dot vaccine tattoo, the WHO’s Michael Ryan has even endorsed forced removals of family members from homes, and the American “president” has yet to denounce either of them. The world will never get back to the way it was before this pandemic. Too many people are seizing the opportunity of this crisis to implement draconian measures in line with the NWO. The end of days is literally playing out before our eyes. It’s past time to put away childish things.

I would also advise a strict exercise regimen so that your body experiences exhaustion, along with consistent daily prayer to slay this dragon of lust. If you are really in the grip of addiction and can't get sober by yourself, go to a local SA meeting. They can show you the way to freedom, with God's help, of course.

Stay active and busy! King David fell into the sin of lust because he was lazy, sitting on a cushion, while his men were out in battle.

Find a noble battle! Maybe it’s a business venture, a field of study, writing, sports, carpentry, learning a language or instrument, or all those things at once!! Imagine if you took all the time spent watching porn and applied it to something useful for the world. How much happier you would be and better the world would be?

Look at the REWARDS of not watching porn. When a man stops watching porn it activates all kinds of positive behavior. Enhanced creativity (I’ve heard of this applied to business ventures and successful projects), better ability to perform during sex, more sociable with women, motivated, etc. there are Googleable studies on all of this!
