The story takes place in the early 1900s in Salinas , Cali. The story is about two families the Trasks and the Hamiltons . General story about good vs evil with a twist . The Trasks and Hamiltons must face the demon together. (Has lots of biblical references)

After I read it , I couldn't necessarily categorize for a specific problem . The book is deep , and requires lots of reflecting. The concepts of redpill are on the superficial level of reading , on a deeper level Steinbeck communicates , beauty is the biggest deception ( not a spoiler!)

PROS

*Literally breaks down your view on women and beauty

*Shows how kindness is ankle deep and anyone can fall for it

*Shows direct and indirect methodology of male dominance

*Shows how men are bound to fall for the same trick again and again until they internalize the concept .

CONS

*The book doesn't revolve around the red pill concepts ( spread out as bits and pieces )

*The book spends equal time on all character's development , you will read a lot that has nothing to do with The red pill

Overall I would rate the book a 4/5 on overall as a read since it is not only enlightening for those seeking TRP but also on what it stands for in life and the experiences we face.

My favorite quote :-

“A man so painfully in love is capable of self-torture beyond belief.” ― John Steinbeck, East of Eden
