In what ways do you spoil your husband and build connection/intimacy?

One of the best ways I've found with my husband to build a connection between us is to show respect to him in front of the children and to get the children to see how valuable my husband is to the functioning of our family.

In our house we have a routine of texting my husband pictures when purchases are made. For example, this week my daughter needed new sneakers. When we found the pair she wanted, we sent dad a picture of her wearing the new shoes and thanking him. I've also had the each of the children (when they are old enough) tour my husbands workplace. I really saw that my children understood how hard dad works when my son told me that he was taking careful care of his new study desk because he knew how hard dad worked to buy it.

The other routine we have is that the children need to be quiet when dad comes home. My husband and I enjoy some quiet time together and he gets to relax for a while. I have activity baskets for the younger children specifically for this purpose. These have interesting books, quiet games, and simple craft activities. I only allow them to use the activity baskets at special times like dad coming home from work so the baskets will remain "special" in their eyes. This gives my husband and I some alone time and allows us to connect before interacting with the children over dinner.

Manicures with hand/arm massage, multiple times per week. It kept his hands looking professional and him looking more competent, provided a lot of relaxation and stress relief, saved money, and is ridiculously cheap.

The other thing I would do is sneak out on weekends to wash and detail his car. He was a car guy, and this really showed I cared what he cared about.

He would remodel the house, showing he cared about what I cared about.
