The advice I received is if you're over 18 you should be wearing a moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher daily. And don't forget your chest/neck. Any skin exposed basically from your nipples up. A lot of women spend so much time on their face but their neck/hands gives away their age. So rub the sunblock into your hands daily, too :) If you add up all the time you're driving you'll realize how much sun your hands/arms get.

Remember: The more you prep from a young age the less damage control you'll have to do later in life. Preventative skin care is easier then reactive skin care. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate :)

My routine is Mary Kay but based on some advise in IRC I'm going to slowly adding a few new items.

NOTE This routine is MY routine. that does not mean it cannot work for you but it does mean that you need to try products and find some that agree with your skin type. Also you have to patch test to make sure you don't break out and do not slop on 30 different products in one day. If you break out you'll never know which product is the one affecting you.

My routine is the following

Coconut oil/Mineral oil 50:50 mix to remove dirt and make up
neutrogena face wash to remove coconut oil
Clinique Step 2 Toner
C20 Vitamin C drops
AHA (Paulas Choice 8%)/BHA (Stridex in red box) depending on the day (I switch between the two)
Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence
[MIZON] Snail Repair Perfect Cream for the eyes
Cerave in a tub

That is my night routine. The morning is simpler.

Wash face with water
Sunscreen: SKIN AQUA UV moisture Milk SPF50+

You should be changing your pillow cases every night. Pro tip: Put those t-shirts that you never use on them. I don't own a lot of pillow covers but I sure do own a lot of old t-shirts that I never use otherwise. This is because you put your face on this. You do not want to expose your skin to more crap than necessary. So use clean pillow coverings. I've seen my skin go from good to great because of this.

My routine I got it from /r/asianbeauty. My skin is flawless except for the redness that I've always had (from drinking sad to say). But no blemishes or blackheads.

Finally, drink LOTS of water. :)

I just ordered a bunch of stuff!

I've always had an issue with acne. Early on I developed CSP (r/compulsiveskinpicking). Of course I didn't know this until recently and am working on it with my therapist. It's a small part of a larger issue.

However, my battle recently has been with my sebaceous filaments and blackheads. So I am going to follow this. I ordered the following:

So my current plan is this:

Daily evenings:

Remove make up with wipes.
Wash face. With this
Apply lotion (I have easily clogged pores so any recommendation on lotions would be appreciated)

Daily mornings:

Splash of water
Sunscreen/lotion

Every second morning:

I only wash my face in the evening otherwise it gets too dry. The less I touch (and pick) my face the clearer it is. It's a work in progress, but I'm excited to try my new supplies!

What sunscreen do you ladies use on your face? I have been switching between a baby organic one that is SPF 50 and a Loreal one that is 100 SPF. I recently read an article that states most sunscreen doesn't protect as much as it says on the label so do you reapply through the day?

Ladies in your late 20s, what are the biggest skin changes you've noticed so far? Right now, I totally see my under eye area changing overnight -- it's scary! I have a skincare routine that I swear by now or else I am in panic mode:

FACE

AM:

Wash face with Cetaphil
Deep scrub with Charcoal/Sugar Scrub (every other day)
Use Babyface Complete Eye Cream on my undereyes
Use the ROC Anti-Wrinkle Two Step System
Finish with Olay Regenerist SPF 50 Moisturizer

PM:

Wash face with Cetaphil
Sheetmask for 30 minutes (I'm going to start doing this every night -- my skin loves it)
Use Babyface Complete Eye Cream on my undereyes
Use the ROC Anti-Wrinkle Two Step System

BODY

Daily exfoliation with St. Ives Sea Salt Body Wash in the shower
100% Organic Shea butter instead of lotion cuz ain't nobody up in here tryin to be ashy, okay? (I was using coconut oil before, but bf wasn't a fan)
Monthly full body waxing

My new holy grail products are by Mario Badescu. I rarely break out, but when I do, these two things save the day for me! The Drying Lotion is great for your run of the mill acne/white heads. A little dab of this (admittedly smelly) pink sediment at the bottom of the bottle at night helps noticeably shrink the size of the worst white heads in a day or two.

Once a month, I can expect to get one or two cystic acne spots under my skin that drive me crazy--thanks ~~Obama~~ Aunt Flow! This Buffering Lotion makes all the difference in the world! Lotion a very misleading term--this is very thin and liquid-y, but I just pat it on at night and instead of taking weeks to heal, the cystic acne spots are gone in a matter of days.

I bought mine from Ulta and was able to use my points for a discount!

I've just gotten the Mad hippie Vitamin C serum to try for the first time! I've been trying different Vitamin C serums but it's always such a nuisance for me to repurchase and then worry about it oxidizing, since I can never find them locally. So I end up just getting a new one whenever it fancies me or I travel. So far I've gotten the best result with OST's C20. I hope Mad hippie's is effective!

At the moment I use blackhead clearing face wash in the shower and astringent afterwards. When washing outside of the shower, I use micellar water only.

I use anti-dark circle cream and moisturizer labeled women age 25+, I do those every morning and night.

I occasionally use sheet masks.

I am already in the process of ordering some sunscreen! But mostly I'm lost

Hey ladies I'm a bit new here but I though I'd contribute a bit. I'm with everyone on the Asian beauty trend! I'll list my routine even if I get the names wrong lol.

Details: I am 21, have combination skin, little to no acne but redness is an issue. My cheeks are pretty dry. I am fair skinned and Caucasian.

Night: Oil Cleansing (Currently using grape seed oil which has lots of Vitamin E. Also used Coconut oil and Olive oil. So far I like coconut oil best.

Hada Labo Foaming Moisturizing Cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid (Low pH and hyaluronic acid helps with hydration-- it's from Japan. You can find them at local Daiso's or 99 Ranch Market's)

Twice a week: I use a Korean peeling scrub from SecretKey. I can't remember the exact name but it used lemon extract and is brightening. Sometimes I skip this.

Toner: Hada Labo again but I don't remember the exact name. It has hyaluronic acid.

Optional: Sheet or homemade masks. For brands: I like TonyMoly or The Face Shop. Most face madks I use have green things in them like aloe, kelp, avocado, etc. to help with redness. Sometimes I skip this.

Vitamin C Serum (Don't remember brand but it is all natural)

Cosrx Whitening Essence (Or something like that lol it's Korean)

Spot Treatment: Sounds gross but if I have acne or bad redness using Mizon Snail Gel Moisturizer it's gone within two days!

An eye cream with ginseng from Missha.. Don't remember the name but it's Korean again.

CeraVe PM Moisturizer OR a Vitamin C cream from a brand called 9 to 5. I switch between these night creams.

Lastly is a 95 percent aloe vera gel from Nature Republic. If ya'll have any redness please use aloe vera this helps me the most!

Morning:

Clinique Moisturizer

For sunscreen I use Copper Tone spray on my body and a Japanese Biore sunscreen on my face. My makeup also has sunscreen.

I'm super low maintenance when it comes to skin care. I find eating well helps keep breakouts and acne away. I wash my face with water and use coconut oil or almond oil to remove makeup. After I shower I apply rose hip oil for its anti aging properties. At night I apply a homemade serum: aloevera gel, almond oil and a few drops of frankincense essential oil. The frankincense chills me out, and it is anti aging. Every once in awhile I make a DIY mask with honey lemon and yogurt. I love how soft my skin feels afterwards. That's about it! I'm frugal and don't like spending money on tons of products.
