There are some older posts with really great answers to this already. A lot of us will answer that we are honest and upfront, but I also think many of us that are also have lower counts to begin with, and therefore not much to fear.

Others have already addressed this but if asked outright you should be honest. Starting a relationship off on a lie is never good. My husband when we first started dating knew I had a past as I knew he had one as well. He has never once asked me for a number and he never cares to know as I feel the same about him. I honestly don’t recall ever dating someone who has explicitly asked me for a number, I know there are men out there for whom it matters and they’ll ask but I’ve found that being discreet and not wanting to delve into the past is often the road many men take these days. I’ve definitely been asked how many relationships I’ve been in or how they’ve ended which in my opinion anyway is a much bigger indication of any potential future relationship problems, but again I’m not a man so I can’t speak to what other men may feel about a count. Never lie, it’s never going to end well for you.

If you are asked directly never lie. If you’re not asked about it don’t voluntarily give that information.

If your count is high it will affect your ability to hold down a guy. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s always better to have a lower body count when you’re trying to appeal to men.

If it’s high lie, just before warned if it’s ever discovered you are almost guaranteed to put that relationship at risk. If you are honest and it’s high, expect to be placed in the casual category. You’ll be treated as someone not to take seriously for a long term relationship.

Personally I’ve never been asked about a body count. Like others mentioned, most men don’t care.

I’d never ask for somebody’s body count, but rather the nature of their previous relationships. Whether it was filled with hook ups, serious relationships, etc.

My fiancé has never asked me and I’ve never asked him. I’m 29 and he’s 39. I think you reach an age where there’s zero chance you’re finding a virgin and as long as the person seems like they are good and have self respect what they did in their past doesn’t matter as much. Younger people probably care more.

I think it’s weird to ask this on a first date, so I think you dodged a bullet on this particular guy. However, you need to make sure you are carrying yourself with grace and respect in the dating scene. If you seem like a person with a high body count they may be more apt to ask about it and idk how you avoid that other than what you wear, who your friends are, where you hang out etc. like do you come across as a “party girl”.

I don't know why people even ask this. My boyfriend has never asked my body count, doesn't want to know about my past relationships and we never talk about our ex's or old relationships. It kind of really doesn't matter. Or I guess redpill theory says it does because unstable people have higher body counts, but if someone is asking you about it, they're waiting to judge you for something instead of actually getting to know you.

Um, did a man actually ask you your body count? I find that to be a really crass and immature question. If you want to entertain that, then by all means, be honest. (Or be prepared to face the consequences of lying.) But personally I’d never continue dating a man who asked something like that. If he’s worried about promiscuity, there are ways to vet behavior for that without asking questions like, “How many people have you had sex with?” I haven’t heard anyone seriously talk about body count except online or in high school, or maybe in the context of “I’m a virgin, are you?”
