I am getting married thanks to RPW

Backround: I grew up a total tomboy. My parents were both working all day long to make ends meet so I never learned how to be a woman. I literally didn't even know basic things like how to style my hair until I was in my 20s. I grew up with movies that promoted the idea that "cool chicks" are badass and argumentative so I tried to act like that for a while and of course it was a total disaster. I cringe when I think of how I used to act.

I discovered RPW and I was defensive at first, but I thought I should give it a try. I made effort to improve my appearance, I started being nicer and stopped trying to argue all the time. I got an amazing boyfriend and I was sweet and nurturing to him. I learned to cook and clean. I discovered something amazing. If you treat a man nicely, if you take care of his needs, he actually starts treating you like a Queen. My man takes me on expensive trips and luxury hotels. He buys me gifts, he always tries to make my life nicer and easier and he's overall amazing. We got engaged recently and I still can't believe that I came this far.

100% this. I too was pretty aggressive and intimidating and boss bitch whatever. Then I hit 28, and went through a weird relationship where I got to see what it was like to love someone but they were standoffish and mean (something I thought was powerful) from the other side I realized it’s not the right way to live. I found my now fiancé 2 months later and couldn’t be happier. I’m feminine. I’m submissive (in a good way). I love cooking and being loving and gentle. I didn’t know life could be this good!

Well done. With so many turning their backs on femininity, it's easier than ever to win just by being a 'good girl'. Expect crabs will try to pull you back into the bucket and sabotage the good thing you've found.

Society and the sisterhood strongly encourage abandoning the good girl path. Funny how you needed to 'rediscover' what felt natural all along.

  1. Basic - sweet, feminine, wholesome
  2. Freak/Baddie - grab bad boy attention by being/looking wild
  3. Hot Babe - leverage hotness for lifestyle
  4. Boss Babe - become manly to win like a man

Few make it back to the good girl path to find that happiness.

I’ve always been a kind and gentle person and it came naturally to me but being bullied made me harden just to get through high school mentally intact. I was a very easy target for girls.

I’m glad I learned how to defend myself and not to take crap but I’m even more glad I can be a soft and loving person again now that I’m an adult and married to my wonderful husband.

Agree. Middle school made me have to get unbelievably tough and while it helped me survive school which is good. It’s hard to recalibrate later in life.

Yeah, I can totally relate. Except they got me to change before my high school years (6th grade). I am still learning myself and figuring things out I know I will never be the person I use to be.

relationships are give and take and constant negotiation, there is no equal partners, like if someone gets sick the other person should want to carry them. No matter what people have to ask "what am I bringing to the table? and is it worth it for the other person?"

Just from my perspective, overly argumentative people, male or female are toxic as hell. Basically the caricature of a “Karen”

Teach me your ways. I am a 24 going on 25 and I feel like I'm ready to be a wife. I want to be a homestead wife specifically but it's been pretty difficult. I feel like I get close and then I get ghosted, I know these guys are doing me a favor by leaving but it's been exhausting and discouraging.

What did you do differently in your life to become softer and what was the time gap in between the time you became softer and the time you met your husband? I feel like I've been waiting forever but I feel so close how do I stay encouraged?

This is the absolute epitome of what I hope to become one day. I really did drop the ball on rpw but this has truly rekindled my inspiration

Good for you sister 🥰

Congrats, you let society pressure you into not being your true self and attributed that to a successful relationship! In any functional relationship both take care of the other, and it's important to distinguish that from gender roles. If you like to take care of him and you express that through being trad housewife-esque that's perfectly fine. But believing that it's your duty for being born a woman is not healthy.

Where do these women exist?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
