Through the years, I've come to the realization that I have a "b*tchy resting face" - meaning I'm pretty unapproachable if you don't know me and I'm going about my own business.

This is mostly an issue when meeting new people, once I get to know them and am more relaxed, they realize I'm not a "b*tch" or "stuck up" as my facial expression portrays. Usually I'm just too shy to initiate friendly conversation right away so sometimes this becomes an issue.

Unfortunately I'm not actively thinking about my facial expressions, especially if I'm busy at work. But I've come to the conclusion I really need to smile more. Whether it's smiling at coworkers in the hallways or just saying good morning to the receptionist in the morning - it's something I need to make a habit.

What improvement "goal" do you have in the short term?
