It has taken months of me going all super girly excited every time I pass a flower in a store or anywhere... today we were shopping and got separated and when I came back he had this beautiful plant with purple flowers all over it in the cart and said he wanted to get it for me. :) it is now in our kitchen looking gorgeous. He is not usually very perceptive to things like this and this not his love language but he wanted to make me feel special. Thanks RPW :)

Lol aww this is really cute. It seems like repetition is the key with men as they don't seem to take hints and cues very well. I just wonder now if he won't FLOOD you in flowers lol. I've seen that happen before with men in this situation. Also - so nice he got you a plant. I really can't stand getting flowers only to watch them die. So much better when it's a plant.

Agreed on the plants! The nicest flowers I've ever had were three lilac bushes. The man is fourteen years gone but the lilac bushes are hale and hearty, and we have much joy of them.

I know this probably doesn't matter but to preserve your flowers as much as possible (I love Lily's for their long-lasting properties) spray them with Lemonade, take away any leaves that may 'taint' the water they are in and also cut them at an angle regularly for maximum upkeep. If you tie them and hang them upside down they last forever.
