Great post! I have struggled with this before. Mostly because I've had men who I have submitted to and trusted, that did not deserve it. Once bitten, twice shy.

You brought up such great points. I would describe myself a natural RPW, I've always been very feminine, and submissive by nature.

When I was younger (and more of an idiot) I was in a toxic relationship with a boy that didn't respect my boundaries and almost got off on making me uncomfortable. He also had quite the temper (lost jobs over it) & would take it out on me. I found myself resisting him and denying my submissive nature. I put up walls of indignation just to protect myself.

After that I became very anti-man, but since calming down have found the most beautiful balance with my SO. He is my rock and big strong oak tree, and deferring to (submitting to) him gives me peace and confidence. I also find the more I give, the less he asks of me. The more submissive I am, the more freedom I feel. And in asking less and less of my partner I am receiving more than I ever have. It reminds me of the Laura Doyle AMA. In being my natural submissive self I am allowing myself the freedom of letting go of stress in the relationship and I have all the time in the world to be my goddess of fun and light!

..there is another type of fear that even submissive women might experience. This fear, I believe, when respected, is just fine (let’s think of levels of fear here. I’m not talking terrified. I’m talking wary). This is fear of disappointing. We’ve all experienced this. We have a person in our lives whom we highly respect. Parents, a boss, a friend, a colleague, and even our husbands whom have expectations of us. We know that if these expectations are not met this person will be disappointed in us. It is a driving force and one not to be mistaken for fear for our well being. I believe this to be fine as it is a natural consequence of respect. Now, one should work to grow past this as it is not necessary, but recognize it for what it is. It is not there because of a husband lording over you, rather it is a consequence of respect. Don’t let those who would use words against you turn it into something that it is not.

I've received odd looks from (some) people when I talk about this 'fear' of not wanting to disappoint the people in my life that I truly respect - when it's entirely logical that those we admire and trust are the same people we want to give our absolute best to consistently. It's not unhealthy, it's indicative of a strong bond.

hi am a new woman here, trying to understand what red pill means, and dose that fit in to what your asking about submissive Vs subservient or doormat? every one who knows me knows that am not got a subservient bone in my body, but I have only been this way with one person in my like and I find grate pleasure be submissive to this one man, its so hard to put it in to words how it makes me feel, and I all ways feel safe, don't feel like a doormat. don't know if anyone feels different about these views, but love to hear peoples opinions
