Themed birthday party for MIL?

Hi everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right sub but I need ideas! My MIL had planned for years to go on an African Safari for her 60th birthday, and we spent so much time planning the trip last year and into early 2020, only to scrap the whole thing because of COVID. Instead, we are taking a little weekend trip outside of our city, but there's no real wildlife here (we're in the northeast). I want to bring the Safari theme/spirit to her birthday weekend as much as possible because I know she was really looking forward to that experience! So far our ideas are:

1. nature hikes
2. Safari Scavenger Hunt
3. Getting everyone little safari hats
4. Printing out a booklet of all of the wildlife we might encounter on our trip as though it were a safari (squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, deer, etc)

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! Or if you could point me in the direction of the right sub
