My dad is very hard working. He will work and provide for my family while my mom takes care of my sister. He will always protective of me... He will never speak badly about his daughters.

My grandpa is hilarious and quirky... My boyfriend is also. Most of the men in my family is very hardworking. I love them very much.

That's why I love this sub you tell it like it is while no male bashing. Some women need a little reality check and I'm grateful thank you.

One of the things I've always appreciated from my father and grandfather - and sought out in a husband - is their ability to do home repairs and the like.

I dated a guy where my mother joked that "at least he'll be able to hire someone to change the lightbulb". It was really difficult to respect the complete inability to do any hands on type of stuff. So much of what I saw growing up involved DIY rather than hiring out a task. And this was from two men (dad and grandpa) who worked professional desk jobs. They just still knew how to run wiring in the house to add a new light if that's what a project called for.

I definitely looked for this quality in a partner and my husband has it in spades. I respect the heck out of all three of them for being able to maintain a house at the level of self sufficiency that they all manage.

My father raised my sibling and I alone, after my mother proved that she was irresponsible and unfit. He braved against the odds of society against him, the discrimination for being a single father and provided for us all on his own. He knows how to manage money so well, that he can do this and still provide for us the things that we want. We never wanted for anything, we were never hungry. He is so strong and as he is younger, he feels like my best friend who I can be so open to at the same time, while being the family patriarch that I respect so much and I try to serve as a ‘mother’ figure in our family to help him and to run the household. My SO is also a great man and while he doesn’t have years of experience like my father does, he always does have the best interests at heart and always works very hard in order to plan for our future. He is thoughtful, proactive in planning and looks out for me while being very affectionate and caring. He is always looking forward and has an open mind, he doesn’t hesitate to ask those who may have more experience than him for different perspectives and advice, he is always trying to improve himself and is responsible.

I love and respect the men of my life.

What you're describing is respect. To women, respect is primary and love secondary. To men, love is primary and respect secondary.

Also, men love women, women respect men
