I'm a "writer" in the lowest sense of the word. I used to write columns for industry magazines, wrote for the music press for a while and currently penning my first full fiction book. My own experiences over the last 4-5 months or so have just flooded my imagination with scenarios, ways to develop those into others and find links. There's nothing more therapeutic than writing about yourself and your own experiences, no matter how bad you fucked something up. It puts it in black and white no nonsense verbiage and you can just see where the mistakes you made really were. As well as making a good subplot, if it really strikes a chord with you as you read it back, your readers will identify with it.

It's a trick I picked up writing for industry mags. My first few submissions were very dry and not that popular. My editor met with me and told me that he didn't feel like he was in a place with me, that I was genuinely sharing an experience with a reader. Even though this was a dry column for a very dry subject for an industry full of old men, I still needed to develop my penmanship to actually ensure the reader was in the room with me.

Venting by typing things out, be they on reddit, or just a word document you share with nobody, is exactly the same. If you write from the heart, let the words flow and sod the spelling/typos, you will find that anyone who even shares a modicum of experience in that field with you empathizes enough to fill in the blanks.

Further rambling. Most children when they're first encouraged to be creative writers in English class will be told things like "Seeing, Hearing, Smell, Taste and Touch". While that's not totally incorrect, it's more a reference to the frame of mind you need to put yourself in when writing about what you're experiencing. It's a tool to put yourself in the room, in the moment, in the event. With venting, this is easy as you're already in the room, you just need to start flowing.

Even the best authors will most likely leave out every one of those seeing hearing... details. So long as the experience they are trying to convey touches a chord with the reader, the human mind is creative enough to fill in those blanks. And the best fiction is one that allows you to do just that.

TRP is a cross between fiction and reality in a way. To blue pillers, people who have no idea about game, people who still subscribe to the falsehood of male and female interrelationships, TRP is a fiction. It's only when certain cues are made to stand out and present themselves that certain common threads emerge which engage them, draws their interest and compels them to read more. That's when you have a great piece of writing.

So vent away. There's no better way to understand your own mindset than by reading past rants. Because the subtle nuances of your personality at that point in time will be recorded in black and white, etched into stone. Some time later, you'll re-read it and immediately be transported back to a time where you could consider yourself weak or vulnerable and immediately pinpoint every one of your mistakes, as if you were pointing out all the even numbers on a 100-square.
