Romantic movies are ruined for me.

I used to be a sucker for roms or rom coms.

I recently watched one the other night with my roommates (I live with a married couple) and then I tried watching one tonight.

I just realized the sympathetic parts for the women, where the woman who has been like fucking two different guys and then has to choose between them, or whatever it may be. And we have to feel empathy.

It could be that she finds this really great guy, but then her all-too-wrong-for-her ex shows up and wants her back so she fucking leaves the awesome guy who has taken care of her for the last few years for him.

I just don't give a shit anymore.

Go have a pity party, you want the guy who treated you like trash and the better man gets left? Or perhaps the "better man" was just a beta blue the whole time?

Either way there isn't any sympathy from me towards the woman in chick flicks anymore. Over it. thanks trp

Standard romantic comedy formula:

  • Guy and girl meet and initially don't like each other.
  • Guy and girl fall in love with each other.
  • Manufactured drama that only happens in movies occurs and they break up. Then one person (almost always the man) makes a grand romantic gesture to show how sorry he is. The two get back together. The end.

Hollywood loves romantic comedies because they're inexpensive to make and they almost always turn a profit. If they cared about realism they'd include a scene at the end that shows the couple a year later at Bed, Bath, and Beyond arguing over who does more household chores.

If you watch on Netflix "they came together" it's an all star ensemble satire of this.

Whilst TRP definitely razes all the contrived hollywood romance to the ground (you can no longer enjoy it if you ever did), what you lose in terms of that, you gain back tenfold if you turn your attention to world classic literature.

Nowadays I regularly find myself picking up a novel by Guy de Maupassant, or Jack London, or Tolstoy, for pure entertainment. With some red pill insight, you can't help but become completely engrossed in these true-to-life and very picturesque mental explosions of human suffering and joy.

Here's what one of Maupassant's epic Alpha Widows says to her helpless orbiter (our intrepid hero):

" My dear friend, a man in love is not only foolish but dangerous. I cease all intercourse with people who love me or pretend to; firstly, because they BORE ME, and secondly, because I look upon them with dread, as I would upon a mad dog. I know that your love is only a kind of appetite; while with me it would be a communion of souls... I will never be your sweetheart; it is therefore useless for you to persist in your efforts. And now that I have explained, shall we be friends?"

Lucifer's daughter alpha widow confesses her toxic soul in so many words, ending on a sweet LJBF note? BITCH PLEASE. Could you possibly twist that shiv a little more? There was as much AWALT if not more so even in the 1800's it seems!

I was rooting for our little guy the orbiter, him being military and having many unconscious alpha tendencies in his blood, but what do you know, he breaks down, dumps all his best plates and marries this bitch - in full accord with Briffault - because it was convenient for her. This cannot fail but lead to his total undoing in the end, I already know it, but he thrashes still and thinks he'll find happiness with this adorable succubus. Can't wait to devour the rest of this kinky ass classic drama when I have time.

You might enjoy reading Voltaire if you haven't already been there mate.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
