2020 a Year in Reflection - Share your greatest lessons of the year.

January 4, 2021

2020 is over, and while dates are abstract ideas that have no bearing on the events in our lives, our minds still anchor attitudes and emotions on the passage of time and the arbitrary delineations thereof.

So, with that in mind, let us use the new year as a fresh, clean slate, and reinvigorate our spirits and drives to achieve greatness in the year to come.

Let us reflect on 2020 and share the greatest lessons you learned in 2020.

The lesson driven home to me was that women don't change. They just get older. I'm dating in the late 30s to early 40s range and nothing about the game has changed from when I was in my 20 except the level of entitlement from the women out there. They expect the world and really don't bring much to the table. I have my own house, car, job and business, my kids are grown. I have hobbies and good friends. I don't need them for anything other than a bit of fun.

They are very goal oriented and those goals don't align with my goals. It's weird to see them pitch a relationship as a good idea when their pitch includes all the things I can do for them and no benefits for me other than fun times. I can get fun times without a commitment. I almost feel sorry for them.

It's also funny that being cocky with a hint of a softer side is still crack to them. They always think that softer side is the way in. But that softer side is for my children and my parents. And it's not all that soft to be honest. Aging parents and college age kids need know there is a firm hand on the wheel.

But the greatest lesson of 2020 was facing myself in isolation and facing death and coming to terms with it. It helped me get really clear about what's important in my life beyond family. The results...my creative pursuits and finances and not much else. Women are way down the list.

It was a year of personal growth. Isolation showed me myself and it gave me time to work on those things that needed work. I feel less depressed and more hopeful about the world because I feel better about myself and what my goals are in life. I actually made more money in 2020, grew my business, lost weight, and completed significant personal goals.

Brother, this is gold. I'm still dealing with depression, but coming out of it. I agree with everything you said.

[–]RedKingRising33 points34 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks. I got really depressed in quarantine. Started smoking pot and drinking at home alone. I put on 15lbs. I finally realized that I had to deal with it and cleaned myself up.

I cut all news for two months. You can't clear your head with a megaphone in your face blaring about how the world is ending. Also, daily exercise, good healthy food, lots of sleep, meditation, daily structure and goal setting really helped me get back on point. I started off with small goals and then progressed to larger goals. Each small win made me feel better. Now I'm tackling bigger life changing goals. I'm looking forward, not backwards. You can do it man! Make it happen.

[–]Ozymanberg5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

My biggest mistake was not cutting off news during the whole summer fiasco. Not that it wasn't important but that negative rabbit hole is no use to anyone other than the sheep blindly following the media and the ones up top who profit from it, and like you said, I got pretty depressed as well. Kudos to you for doing that

[–]AshyLarry278 points9 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

The lesson driven home to me was that women don't change. They just get older.

Put that one in bold and on caps for the naive newer members who hope "the wall" is a chance for some easier lower quality hole. My job involves all sorts of women of varying ages and you can tell which ones have a higher N count by how they act around you, regardless of age.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

please expand on the way they act

[–]AshyLarry2717 points18 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Look into concept of "psychological space." They will be much closer than what is "socially acceptable" or "normal" between two people. They will find more excuses to be close enough to touch you. They will make it come off as something harmless or innocuous. I work in healthcare, so I will have patients or my tech who was like this. Jokingly physically moving me out the way, looking over the schedule with me while being so close our arms are touching and holding that (more aloof or unaware guys will nervously back away from this because of psychological space. Its the same mentality that makes guys "hover hand" in photos). These are all things you notice girls in college would do at house parties, clubs, or bars who are looking for something to happen that night. Usually girls sit back and hope a guy will approach them. The less patient ones will do more obvious stuff like what is discussed above. Especially if all of this is done with flirty language or inside jokes of that nature.

Remember that social norms dictate we initiate the overt aspects of flirting. In order to grab our attention, women will do more covert actions such as just trying to find a way to be near us or grab our attention in more general ways. If you're at a bar and you notice certain girls just keeping finding themselves near you or "bumping" into you, its not an accident, especially the higher the occurrence rate throughout the night.

Its a lot of body language concepts too. Like how they face you with their feet and chest. How they look at you. Be aware of these things and it will make it easier to tell who is and isn't into you

[–]TimeXo92 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

not trying to butt in , but they act . they just act and then give the logic on why what they did is right. in short, nature has made them to be harsh so that only the best life reproduces. women ae not emotional creatures . yes theur emotions are real, but VERY . VERY conditional.

[–]CAPIreland0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Listen to this guy, he fucking knows his shit! Great addition man.

[–]Zdeneksfilter0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

My man. You seem to have your life wonderfully figured out. I'm still in my 20s and trying to soak in as much as I can. You've taught me a whole lot in just 5 paragraphs.

[–]daproest10 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

You’re really ok with not having a long term spouse? Idk how old u are but it’s something that gets to me a lot

[–]RedKingRising1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Why? Why do you feel you need one? Have you really meditated and thought about it? There is nothing wrong with wanting/needing a long term spouse, I say if it makes you happy, go for it.

But to anwser your question, yes I'm fine. I've had a long term spouse. I don't really miss it. I miss my kids being little and spending my time with them, but I don't miss the whole spouse thing.

Don’t accept anything less than what you want. Say not to platonic friendships.

She’s not yours, it’s just your turn.

Always escalate.

Don’t react to things emotionally in the moment , give yourself some to think about it if it’s a serious issue.

Trust your gut more.

The medium is the message. Seriously.

Put yourself first! She is not gonna be your savior. Don’t make her your mission and relax. You are alone in your head. People come and go. Swallow this. The sooner the better.

  1. Fac, si facis. Hesitation kills.

  2. You are a tailor of your life.

  3. The strongest thing there is on earth is nothing but your very own mind.

  4. There is no such thing as true altruism

  5. It was always survival of the fittest. Move quickly, duck low or you will be an easy target.

[–]alphaonthecomeup3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

5 is elite.

[–]1arakouzo37 points38 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I learned a lot about communication.

When you tell somebody something, they only hear what they want to hear. So you need to disguise things that you want the other person to hear as something they actually want to hear. This applies equally to both women and other men.

[–]ibwriting13 points14 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Would add on most people dont care what you say but more about how you make them feel about what you're saying.

[–]brngamer1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Care to elaborate on this wisdom?

[–]HermitagePower6126 points27 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Lessons Learned

  • Embrace the suck. Iron sharpens iron. Look for the positives in difficulty and let it make you a better man.

  • Women are not the prize. YOU are the prize (if you have made yourself so).

  • Don’t attempt to give the red pill to men who are obviously in the throes of blue pill squalor, especially at work. Rely on the strength of your example.

  • You can have everything you desire if you are willing to work for it.

[–]Sad_Maintenance52124 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I think you can have anything you want but not everything you want. You have to focus and take opportunity cost into account.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Life can end at any given moment so accordingly you have to find satisfaction in any given moment. Enjoy your routine, build upon it, and learn to love it. Always be growing positively. Don’t expect anything from anyone, they will always disappoint, and that’s okay, just be prepared for it.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 64 points65 points  (9 children) | Copy Link

The lesson I find myself learning over and over is that there is no perfect.

We speak in absolutes on TRP. Mostly to communicate ideas and it helps to demonstrate lessons through hyperbole. But it builds a mental image in one's mind that, if one is caught off guard, might become the image of perfection that he compares himself to.

When you hear about success stories or advice from the elder red piller who simply recommends finding a woman who will worship his footsteps, take a moment to realize there is no perfect relationship and no perfect woman (and no perfect you, either).

Yes, you want a woman who fawns over you. But this does not mean entering into a LTR with one means that you will not eventually have problems and disagreements to overcome.

The advice for LTR's is "don't get into the weeds." Arguing with a woman is a losing battle. But it fails to address the nuance of what the arguments might be about.

Yes, jumping into heated arguments and letting her break your frame are a bad plan. But eventually you will have a disagreements that require resolution and resolve. Of course, you must learn not to engage in petty bickering, but also you must learn that some arguments cannot be avoided and, in fact, for the betterment of your relationship, you must engage and win.

You will face trials and tribulations, and it is on you to hold firm. She will push, and eventually she will push too far. You will be tested. Do not bicker, do not get into the weeds, but you must push back. You cannot be docile, you cannot simply ignore the argument. You must make decisions that steer the ship, and sometimes that means an unpopular decision needs to be defended.

Anybody pretending that a woman will not eventually try you is lying to you. The idea that women only push if you let your frame slip or didn't do something right is utter nonsense. You will never be 100% perfect, and all relationships have speedbumps on occasion.

The question is, how will you handle the trial?

[–]DareyFathom10 points11 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

Strong post. Realistic outlook that gets lost. IME most of the women that will "fawn" over you are generally the ones that are so far below you in value.

[–]dingleburry_joe2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Wrong not ways the case, I've seen many instances where girls literally worship their man as gods (in their own words). Generally these guys are fit, calm, and happy. The women are usually foreign but at least an 8.

[–]ibwriting4 points5 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

"IME most of the women that will "fawn" over you are generally the ones that are so far below you in value. "

wouldn't say that they're very below you, in fact there are many good looking girls who will do so her believing you are better than her is her hamster as well.

Rationalizations work both ways.

[–]daproest12 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I second this. I had this. A 10. Something out of a magazine cover. Got her when she was young. She was always scared to lose me. She left later (their words mean nothing) but wanted to marry me for a long time before then. I wasn’t ready. It does happen.

[–]ibwriting0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

It's very odd to see people here come for help, then get the tools they need, then create weird arbitrary rules like what stated in my OG comment.

[–]Freezer26093 points4 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Last year I met my first girlfriend.
I'm 26 by now. Lost my virginity 3 years ago and simply want to try whats its like being in a relationship, see what this side of the coin looks like, other than the "bang as many girls as possible".

Deep down I already know that my relationship will not work in the long term. Its not a woman that I want to have kids with, and she's older than me.
We're both into personal growth, so its an actual growth process together that we both manage to acknowledge. Learning how honesty can create an amazing human connection is for me personally the greatest takeaway of 2020.

I've gotten tired of ONS after spending a year in South America, so this was a great change.

Learning how a relationship functions first hand is a mind-opening experience, its a great preparation for the future.

I'm also learning that a man is not designed to have sex with only one woman, and thats a fact that at some point might break this relationship. She knows that I believe this, but I'm not pushing for more sexual partners at the moment. Anybody got good advice here?

[–]i-am-the-prize2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Anybody got good advice here?

read "unchained man, alpha 2.0" by Caleb Jones for OLTR model and concept.

[–]nofappp1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

the relationship wont work long term anyway, so good chance to push for more partners, nothing to lose.

[–]FamilyLegacyWealth0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Happy Cake Day

[–]LilSick2454 points55 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

Thing that I learned:

  • always be willing to walk away
  • always trust a red flag
  • unprotected sex doesn’t equal love

What I need to work on

  • discipline
  • calling women out when they try to bullshit you
  • be attached to the work, not the results

[–]AshyLarry277 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

be attached to the work, not the results

Golden! People don't realize their moment of pride in their accomplishments is always the journey, not the ephemeral high of attaining some reward.

[–]atrejomtnz1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Your last point on what you need to work on stood out to me. Thanks man.

[–]IAmTheOneWhoSlaps1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

unprotected sex doesn’t equal love

I still need to learn this one. What made you learn it?

[–]LilSick241 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

The thing is that learning and acting upon what you learned is two separate things. I think there will always be a part of me that attaches themselves to women I sleep with, but I’ll be more inclined to make the decision that helps me rather than hurts me.

TRP isn’t a one size fits all glove, but when applied it does simplify a lot of bullshit in your life.

[–]ClickKlakk14 points15 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

The greatest lessons for me were:

1) Abundance comes from knowing you can find another woman to fuck with ease, not necessarily having one at your disposal. That confidence comes from years of fucking multiple women. Competence.

2) A strong frame comes from knowing your reality is the truth and being able to interact with confidence from years of testing out all ideas until you have enough data to believe in your knowledge and prove it through desired outcomes. Competence.

3) Real boundaries are not set or enforced through words but through confident actions that have underlying or covert implications. These actions are motivated by a resolve that your worldview is correct and you will have the reality you desire with or without the other characters involved in your story. Competence.

If 2020 has proven anything to me, it’s that my time here has been well spent.

I started my red pill journey in 2016. Over the years I’ve read everything there is to read over and over. I’ve done everything there is to do, over and over. Going from a man who could not figure out women to save my life (getting a bite on my hook and losing the fish within weeks regularly) to a man who has maintained a sex filled LTR for going on two years and is ready to level up and get back to plate spinning and being single.

Every challenge in my relationship in 2020 was faced down with a resolve and competence, a true confidence in my understanding and abilities. Shit tests, comfort tests, a pandemic greatly reducing ones ability to maintain abundance and instill dread, being around each other way more than I would ever think possible without losing attraction, losing my job due to lockdowns, an accidental pregnancy managed to an abortion, being locked out of the gym, the list of challenges were never ending, but the list of red pill wisdom in my head was far superior.

Having a rock solid frame built off of my red pill knowledge got me through all of this with ease. I’m thankful to all of the men who put forth their knowledge, data, examples, stories etc so I could build a better me and control my own sexual destiny.

So many other lessons, but those are some broad reaching ones to pin down. Cheers.

[–]throwaway4rltnshp0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Your final point really hit home. I set all sorts of boundaries in my last [only] relationship and get didn't mean shit because I wasn't even considering proceeding without my partner. I finally took that stance and broke up with her, ad it really drove your point home for me.

[–]FrenCan1629 points30 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

I learned that nothing happens overnight, you can only get 1% (or less) better every time you do something. That's why perseverance, consistency and implementing a functional system for incremental growth puts you way ahead of the competition

I also learned that the chasm between being a loser beta and having a good life isn't actually that big. We're so fucked and cucked in the head by society that we think it's impossible to rise up, but the bar for this competition is so fucking low. Once you realize that, you can literally surge past at least 80% of the male population.

[–]beachjustice2 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Would you mind explaining a little more?

[–]throwaway4rltnshp7 points8 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I may be able to take a stab at this one. The way I was raised was to be a subservient, non-confrontational, meek "nice" guy. My dad said I simply didn't have the genetics to build muscle. I was taught that men don't dress fashionably. That sort of thing. After finding TRP, I was in despair - it all rang true but I didn't see any possible way I could ever be more than I was raised to be. Then I started applying the principals. The smallest acts of dressing better and lifting transformed my social life. I quickly surpassed my peers when I started setting goals and came up with my mission. The bar for standing out against other men is so low - they all do the same stuff: drink regularly, play video games, search for "the one" and complain about anything that doesn't work out perfectly for them. What seemed impossible to escape I got out of in a matter of months.

[–]beachjustice1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Interesting perspective and we've definitely had similar circumstances in life. Unfortunately my perspective has been that everyone around me has goals, is already on their "mission," and I'm just trying to keep my chin up over the bar I thought was much much higher.

[–]throwaway4rltnshp7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

That's very possible, but if you're surrounded by motivated men with goals and ambitions that gives you a model to live by. When you immerse in the typical demographic you'll stand out. A millionaire doesn't stand out amongst billionaires, but he puts anyone under him to shame.

[–]UmbraZone10 points11 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

I learnt to choose my battles instead of trying my best to fight every battle i encounter. Generally just trying to practice the 48 laws of power after reading and understanding them to a certain level.

I have come to aware that I've breaking the Briffault's law most part of my life and it has created a lot of disadvantageous/undesired situations for myself.

[–]tekn0_0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

How l did you break the law?

[–]UmbraZone2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

One of my examples from the past: I have a mindset of giving in my part first as a goodwill in order to let my date/partner be more keen to keep her part of the compromise/promise. Then afterwards, I have to keep reminding them to keep their part, making me as if I was desperate for it. Doing this always annoys them and making a bad image of me out of the situation.

[–]cthrow9815 points16 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

Great topic. Here are some of my learned lessons:

  1. There are no shortcuts

  2. Sacrificing yourself doesn't necessarily come from great morals. Lots of times it comes from people who don't value themselves

  3. Never show weakness

4.(somewhat tied to 3) people appreciate more effortless success(or talent) rather than hard working, self made men

  1. As people, we are heavily biased (read Thinking fast and slow)

Curious to see what others have to say.

EDIT: I'm on phone. Is this comment formatting fucked up or is it just me?

[–]DareyFathom2 points3 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

Never show weakness

I agree entirely with the rest, but this isn't reasonable outside of strictly controlled environments. Eventually every one falters.

[–]beachjustice1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

May not be the place for this, but I imagine a good person to have in a relationship is someone you can show your weaknesses to. Maybe I'm just naive.

[–]throwaway4rltnshp2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

You can show vulnerability without showing weakness. Weakness states "I'm not strong enough". Vulnerability states "this is tough for me, but I will persevere."

Edit: when my dog died, I cried in front of my ex. That wasn't weakness, it was pain. Weakness was when I complained to her how much I was suffering financially without stating my plan to fix it.

[–]beachjustice2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Ooooh. I hadn't differentiated pain and vulnerability from weakness. Thanks.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Reddit has always failed miserably at numbered lists. Add a space after the 4.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

This year, I learned that cohabitation with a woman will give you the opportunity to see the real her. Once she is comfortable enough to drop the act, you see how vindictive, emotionally unstable and toxic a woman can be. AWALT continues to be the theme year over year.

I also learned that it's important to arm yourself with dark psychology knowledge. Books about gas-lighting, manipulation, covert hypnosis/persuasion are essential to defend yourself against common tricks used by women and to ruthlessly use those same tactics on women to get what you want.

2020 also taught me how important it is to have an anchor in your life. When things turn chaotic, it's those anchors that keep us grounded and allow us to plow forward. For me, my anchor this year was lifting and exercise. When I was in literal lockdown, I turned to prison workouts to stay fit and to stay sane. (Burpees being the most useful). I found that no matter when I was mentally, spiritually or physically, working out was something I ALWAYS had and could ALWAYS do. It was my foundation on which I built everything. It even allowed me to attain some progress, I went from 15 pull-ups to 22 pull-ups.

Lastly, I learned that just because a challenge was big, didn't mean it wasn't worth perusing. In a pod-cast I listened to, the host described a megalomaniac who helped prisoners shed time off of their prison sentences. When the odds of success seemed unlikely or the case seemed too big, he would always say, "Well.. I guess we'll just have to eat this elephant one spoonful at a time". That quote really resonated with me; especially the way it communicated such resolve.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Once she is comfortable enough to drop the act, you see how vindictive, emotionally unstable and toxic a woman can be.

The reason here is that there are no external pressures forcing women to mentally mature or emotionally regulate.

[–]beachjustice3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Both the quote and your response were like a slap in the face. I just ended a very toxic relationship with a woman and this is exactly what happened. She dropped the act and I suddenly had no idea who she was anymore. She was exactly that. Toxic, vindictive, and unable to control her emotions at all. Every argument went off the rails or "into the weeds" no matter how hard I tried to keep her on point. It was like playing chess with a child who doesn't know the rules and keeps moving the pieces around.

[–]IfThenPill1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Good reflections otherwise. What was that podcast you listened to?

Some good suggestion of books :) ?

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

  1. Pre-suasion by Robert Cialdini

  2. The Thinker's Guide to Fallacies: The Art of Mental Trickery and Manipulation by Linda Elder and Paul Richard

  3. Covert Hypnosis by George Hutton

  4. Covert Hypnosis 2020: An Operator's Manual by Kevin Hogan

  5. The Dark Side by Kenrick Cleveland

When reading these books, make sure to take notes. They're no good if you read them for leisure because you will not retain what you've learned. I usually keep a notebook next to me while I read them so that I can jot down key bullet points.

  1. Crabs in a bucket is a real thing. When your own manager is jealous of you, it’s time to pack it up.
  2. Insecure people use passive aggressive techniques. All the time. Anywhere in public or your private life.
  3. If an LTR is what you want, fuck her hard, good, and often. Feels are before reals to women.
  4. I won’t let anyone limit my options to ensure their own.
  5. Invest wisely.

[–]ibwriting19 points20 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

I gotcha:

1.most people are not even trying in life. Personally, i've seen this in a few industries rn that most people are mentally weak. It's kinda made me a tad bit jaded when people ask for advice with their problems.

  1. People will tell you what they're thinking, Say Less than necessary is a great tool to figure people out.

  2. Most problems in life are self made, as a person who grew up with the "world is against me thing" most people don't give a shit because incentives matter the most.

  3. Social skills, jesus the amount of people who have social anxiety nowadays is wild, using game helps you stand out in the crowd.

  4. From piping hoes in covid most girls are fucking boring as hell, i'm a firm believer that if you can give them an experience by leading and doing dope shit and creating a dope life add game to it you're killing it.

  5. Bitches need dick more than dicks need pussy.

7.Fuck her well and she'll do anything for you. Girl i was dating for a month got me earpods just for smashing.

  1. Have actual fun in life, yes covid is a thing but i've traveled in this shit and really most people are not even trying (see 1.)

9.Most people get off on the feeling on what you said rather than what you are saying.

10. You can have a great job and still be a little bitch to her, oh yeah she'll show all your friends and me what you said in the DM's.

  1. Every girl from 20-29 is single.

[–]Janoytoothbrush4 points5 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

6 and #11 can’t be understated....

[–]ibwriting1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

think alittle less and act more. say what you mean even if its a lie to make people act the way you desire. beware of getting too attached to one female. even if you're a shark in terms of muscle mass, personality and appearance, she can become your greatest weakness if you believe your heart exists outside your chest. never abandon abundance even if you truly believe shes your best match. theres no happily ever after, theres only now. how do those stories end, you never see it because everybody dies and the truth is sadness is actually the logical conclusion but gotta maintain the good feels. its impossible to be a good person in a rotten world. dont fuck over your people of value but hustle everybody else. i actually felt i had nothing to say because I feel so action oriented now. i still feel nervous but so does everybody. passive man never fucked fair lady. the passive man never even considered he could take over the world and be king. we all experience similar emotions but its how we act after we feel them that defines who we really are. who really knows what im sayin, platitudes or something probably. live life love the masculine way. i hate those bitch ass men who talk about their sexuality and identify as a switch. giving respect to women without making them earn it. if you dont make her earn it, she wont want it as bad. she'll never respect you. everything always changes, i used to resist it. 2020 was a considerable setback, a considerable shift in my routine. 2019 was the best year of my life, 2020 rather dark. i didnt lose myself but what i did lose is fear for tomorrow. prepare for the future as best you can but the present moment is what matters most. the magic always happens outside your comfort zone. never ever give up, always more forward. you have no other options

[–]dkod0661 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Great comment man I strongly resonate with some of the things you said. "it's how we act after we feel them defines who we really are" I wish I learned this younger in my life but we are getting there day by day

  1. It's not what you know, it's who: I am working toward going back to grad school in a very competitive environment. Fortunately for me, there are big people in my field that helped me with advice and connections, all of which obliterated doors I was barely crow-baring down with my personal successes and accomplishments in the field.
  2. We all are suffering from a terminal disease called "being alive." You could die at any day, at any moment, or at some point from the general break down of the body. Knowing this gives you a more clear picture on what you want out of life, and a better path down your purpose or goals. Especially if you ask yourself what would you change about what you are doing now if you found out you had a terminal illness. - I ran into some old RSD content, and while people may have their conflicting disagreements with Tyler/owens and co, they were always great with philosophy on life. This one in particular came from Julien who laid out a phenomenal example of treating your life like a GTA video game. We spend so much time willing to level up and explore in open-environment video games or MMORPGs, yet we won't go anywhere NEAR that level of adventure and risk in real life due to comfort zone.

It's a HELL of a lot easier to save money divorced than it was married. Went from a negative savings rate to just over 30% savings rate. Even with household income getting cut in half.

  1. An opportunity can be in plain sight, you just gotta grab it. With no plan in mind I bought a nice flat in a great location in under 3 months while I see people around me waiting years for the perfect opportunity to come.
  2. People will turn on you, especially at work. Upon hiring I was sold the usual BS that I was an important part of the company. When I pointed out to a client his incompetence in the Covid management, my boss was the first to jump on me. Money is king. Or rather, be very wary of your friends.
  3. With Covid and isolation, some Red Pill ideas are starting to make its way into people minds, men and women alike.

2021 will be interesting.

Never stop going out and socializing and gaming. Making new contacts, new friends, new prospects, new girls, whatever it may be. November was a tough Month for me and was full of depression, because I am an extrovert and it has been tough to be around people and meet more people. enter a Saturday night in December, I was so freaking tired and was just going to stay at home and sleep. By chance I got invited out to a random party… And I made some crazy new connections and then proceeded to sleep with the hottest girl I’ve ever slept with in my life. I’ve been on a fucking roll lately, I’ve never been this confident, this charismatic… I can pretty much walk up to anyone now and charm the shit out of them, Covid or not. Thinking about how well 2020 concluded for me it gives me energy… And I can’t imagine if I had stayed at home that Saturday night instead of going out and doing things I love.

So my lesson? Go out all the fucking time, always be meeting new people, always be building new connections and relationships and networks… And then fucking profit. Because the majority of the world are socially awkward losers… So if you develop your game and your charisma to expert level, you might be amazed what the universe has in store for you.

The masses will always believe what the authorities tell them to believe. No questions asked, no hypotheticals and no nuance. Any sort of deviation from the mainstream will be seen as blasphemy and bigotry.

I know this metaphor is overused, but what's more like 1984 than Trump getting called a racist, xenophobe when he first asked for the borders to shut down and then a few weeks later get called an idiot for not closing the borders? Not to mention the BLM riots, the blatantly fraudulent election... The only hope (maybe) is literally for it all to burn down and then build from the ashes.

Love enough for it to mean something but not enough for it to mean everything.

Your own authentic validation bears infinitely more weight than anyone you will ever meet, owing to the fact it's a double-edged sword in that one, over time, may cultivate authority unto oneself by way of self-affirmation. Thus, your own word becomes your truth, it snowballs into a certain mastery of oneself and detracts from anyone bearing power over you, diminishing their ability to use it against you when it suits them.

Therefore, we cannot control what others may inflict unto us, but we can control what degree of satisfaction we afford unto them.

[–]SkeezerDee4 points5 points  (7 children) | Copy Link

My greatest lessons came at the very end of the year. In fact they're so fresh I’m still absorbing. Many lessons relearned, reaffirmed and proven based on a recent experience I had.

I’d like to have kids. But despite my desire to find a suitable woman to procreate with, most of today's western women are not worth the investment. So while I wait for that special unicorn to drop like manna from heaven, I spin plates.

Where I live right now is locked down tight. I’m typically very active so my wings have been clipped. I don’t do social media or dating apps, so new plate prospects are in short supply. I'm down to one.

Adding to the challenge, this plate is most of what I would want in the mother of my children. She takes care of herself, has long healthy hair, is physically fit but has a classic fertile shape, and while her face is a soft 7/10, she wears zero makeup. She is socially literate, modest, intelligent, is a talented cook and pretends to be interested in everything I do. She’s submissive in and out of the bedroom, has no tats or piercings, and few masculine traits or bad habits. Maybe you’re wondering why she’s a plate.

To her I’m not the judgemental type. I listen well and I don’t ask about awkward personal shit in her past. Clearly made her feel like she can tell me anything though, so she volunteered it. Well surprise, she’s got a huge notch count and a couple of oops abortions under her skirt. Newsflash, there are no unicorns.

So in the face of this disappointing deal-breaker revelation, I remained stoic; she has since venerated me for “not being judgemental”. This is clutch if you want to remain being the owner of the cock she’s bouncing up and down on this month, and it’s key to vetting a woman that is closing in on trapping you.

We’ve never discussed exclusivity until very recently, and I’m coy about my life outside our visits, which I try to limit though it’s tough because I’d happily fuck her daily. She wants more of my time and started chipping away at my frame. It’s difficult to ward off, but being aware of the risk of oneitis is crucial to fight it. Or so I thought.

A few weeks ago we had particularly intense fuck session including some role play that messed with her psyche a little. After she left, I sat in my recliner with a short burbon and recognized the glow of abundance. And it occurred to me. I was going to talk to my future self, maybe suffering from scarcity, so I hit record and spoke.

The holidays have been lonely this year, and there were some signs that she’s dialing it back after trying to have the “what are we” talk just before Christmas. Typically I’d let the plate wobble or drop but this one hurt a little, plus I’d be down to zero, that dreaded scarcity. So perhaps I simped just a little bit. Maybe replied to a text or three within minutes of receipt. Pretty sure I overshared a few things. I even debated getting her a gift. All this led to a self-screening last weekend to evaluate for oneitis, and I clearly showed a few symptoms.

Yesterday I remembered the video and played it. That message from abundance. A grinning motherfucker in a bathrobe. I told myself that while I was talking from a place of ease; “yes, I realize my cock isn’t even dry yet”, but “you need to know this isn’t worth the shit she’ll put you through”. I’m here at the top, and can confirm it’s “just another pussy man. She just loves to fuck.” That I’m happy this isn’t routine; the frequency doesn’t need to increase. She isn’t the one, and can’t be conditioned or controlled or owned, she’ll do what she does. Stay on your task man. If you feel sad, go lift. This is one woman of so many. Keep going. It really hit home when I looked myself in the eyes and said “her motives are very different from yours”.

It was me talking. From the front line of abundance mentality. And me listening, someone in scarcity nearing oneitis. But it sunk in. I recalled the moment I recorded it, and indulged once again in the feelings and the lightness of that evening. I replayed the video and put myself there. It was empowering, and helped with my resolve; an antibiotic to move my bundle of active-brained doubts and fears into the confident, aloof plate spinner I was prior to Christmas. So I’m keeping the video and will replay it as many times as I need to, ensuring I remain there.

Since the revelation, I’ve dialed in the sidebar and resolved to hammer this out. The results are startling, she’s been very attentive.

A few lessons in this experience for me, but the primary ones: Oneitis can strike at any time, even if you think you’re ready for it. Don't have "the talk", ever. Red Pill teachings work, period. Just because she’s your only plate doesn’t mean you change your strategy to keep her interested, as that will be exactly what turns her off. Having one plate is a scarcity danger zone, and considerable effort is necessary to make sure I don’t fall into the dreaded beta trap - but that effort is exercising RP tools, not doubling down on your simping or professing your love. Even wholesome looking unicorn women have depraved pasts - plate them instead.

And take advice from the person you trust most… Yourself.

[–]Accomplished-Faux0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

+1 Quality.

I've used the record function on my phone plenty of times to talk to a future self.

[–]luguxd0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy Link

Will record myself in postnut clarity. Thank you for the idea. What exactly made the girl more attentive?

[–]SkeezerDee0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

My withdrawal of attention, clearly. And it didn't take long. There's a distinction between reducing responses and appearing butthurt though, I did my best to avoid that, despite thinking a little too much about this woman. In fact since the post, momentum has swung entirely in my favour, to the point she apologized for cornering me with 'the talk' and said "I know what your freedom means to you, I just want to be a part of your life, I don't want to scare you off"; as if she subconsciously realized her betatization script was premature. It was a big win.

Look, what I didn't say is that "the feelz" get in the way a bit here, and that chat I had with myself gave me some serious post-nut clarity (and that's exactly what that is, thank you) on this woman's worth. As in, she's never, ever going to be more than a plate. I cannot allow her in, so if I have to watch that video message every day for two years, I will.

[–]luguxd0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

How do you evade appearing butthurt in text? Always had this problem.

Right now im in a similar position with a girl that i know is not LTR material but im slowly thinking more and more bout her. Sucks how our mind play with us.

[–]SkeezerDee0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah sure does. Abundance mentality from outcome independence is what everyone will tell you here, but the reality of that during this particular climate isn't so easy. But you must try, it really will keep her coming back - knowing you have options.

I manipulate myself when communicate with her, I keep it really short and pretend I'm talking to one of my customers or something. Like I'm not an asshole, but I'm not emotional or too personal. Hope that helps.

  1. Not a lot of people want to know how great you're doing in life. I've decided from now on to keep my accomplishments and progress to myself and very close friends.
  2. I've started to internalize and accept female nature for what it is. I see my friends and my peers struggle with women and ask why she isn't texting and blaming themselves for what is really just female nature and/or a lack of being attractive on their part.
  3. Stoicism has brought me a great peace of mind in learning how to let go of things that are out of my control.

Dude post it on Linked not that Fb shite. Some guy recruiter this week sent me senior role running data lake crap and sorting out their data warehouse. I’t be great. Call out their bullshit so far, flatter their progress so far, Insist on breaking down the silos. Arrange to meet each senior (not too senior where they look at managers dashboard only) from each biz unit.

Get your top 3 problems per dep eg FOP or fin, eng etc, assess ROI estimates inc intangibles plus point out they likeku suffer in 2 yeasif they don’t act now as their competitors sure are, drag in the biz units heads, get them to list top 3 painpoints, what they really want. Position this list with GM IT or Digital. Force for budget approval. You may need either 1-3 good GM or better still the guy above them!!! We saw it last 4 years it was incredible fir such a big company. Top smart boy. Then fucks off after a while to do some more

Consistency and linear progression is key in everything. Programming. Lifting weights. Investing. Education. Guitar. Literally becoming a better version of myself daily.

That my dreams and aspirations have to be my top priority because nobody else cares about your achievements and what they mean to you. I've known this forever, 2020 really reaffirmed it for me.

It's ok to let shitty people out of your life, it is for the better.

Degrees are just checkboxes. College is fucking retarded, get it out of the way as fast as possible and get OJT experience ASAP. Programming is hard as fuck once you get past the beginner level stuff. But things you though were hard at the beginner level are like the ABC's.

Reps, reps and more reps.

Fuck being humble. I'm trying to take over the world.

[–]1St31nway1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

How much harder you talking here. I just got started learning it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't get discouraged. Just understand that it gets harder and harder the further you go. You have to work hard. I highly suggest that you decide your path up front so you don't fuck around learning a bunch of bullshit you wont use. It can be done quickly if you work your ass off and build projects by looking up shit in the docs and stack overflow. Don't watch tutorials without building stuff afterward until the info sticks.

Couple things, a BSCS degree is nice, but if you don't build an impressive portfolio it's hard to find a job. Met a guy at bestbuy working there who had a bscs degree and couldn't find a job to save his life. But he was also thinking that the BSCS gets you the job. It doesn't, culture fit and actual ability or potential to fill the role.

JavaScript is hot as fuck right now in Web Dev. Data Science route, check out Jose Portilla's new courses and build projects!!!!!!!!!

Last thing, you wanna get good fast. Learn something then obsessively build projects with the skill until it is like the ABC's. Find a good roadmap that points to the job you want and keep doing building and you will be a fucking ninja by the end of the year.

Hope that helps brother, don't show up and ask for a job and not know how to do it. If you know what you want to do let me know and I will send you whatever resources I have on the subject.

The biggest lesson I had to learn over 2020 is discipline, and stemming from that impulse control. As shitty as this year has been for people the lockdowns forced me to move back in with my family and take a long hard look at what I wanted from life.

I wouldn't have got to this point with embracing my masculinity and just lifting without TRP, for sure it saved my life. While here in the UK we've entered into another lockdown, I'll take it in my stride, keep my plates a' spinning and take the time to focus on my future post-graduation and of course continue to lift. Discipline = freedom.

Biggest lesson? Expect The Best, Prepare For Worst.

It got drilled into me that not everything will go plan. Several surgeries, cancelled events, and just overall a year that has tested me non stop.

So if anyone in the thread has started to slow down due to things not going the slightest to plan: dont.

Just keep doing what you can and progress forwards. Not everything will be ideal and you may have to improvise. Just do what you can and take baby step.

[–]TimeXo90 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy Link

i have tried everything. but i just cant unsee what the red pill showed me. how am i supposed to be compassionate over women with everything i know? i dont hate them. but i certainly dont like them. my biology loves them while my intellect just curses me for liking them. the worst part about the rational male? it fucking worked. when i first ended reading it, i had 3 dates in 2 weeks. The pill freed me. and now i have no strings. i need to figure out and start where we all do, get off the damn ass and do something real

[–]kwiatostan1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I think its just that our worldview just breaks. Its somewhat like internal death. After that you begin to expect different things from women and it gets better when pieces connect. But everything in the world changes. Movies, music, all of the past social interactions are totally different. Still its much nicer. :)

I broke up with my girl.

I told her straight up that I wanted to bang other chicks, and if she was not up to it then we should stop seeing each other. So we did.

Of course, there were other reasons. I was letting myself go in the comfort of the relationship. No gym, no willpower. I had let my guard down and was again becoming what I promised I would never be again.

Being your MPO is a constant uphill struggle against yourself and society. You can never let your guard down.

[–]RPthrowaway1230 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Truthfully 2020 was a year where I made some big changes, but ultimately got fucked in the ass mentally. I achieved my goal of moving to a new city, only to have it remain in fucking lockdown. I achieved my goal of getting a new, higher-paying job only to have the job require masks all day and monthly COVID tests for the whole office. I'm conflicted about how to feel about 2020 overall...I succeeded in several long-term goals, but the whole thing still felt shit because I was ultimately limited in a very crushing way by things completely outside my control.

I know TRP has a lot of making the best you can in the world as it exists, but the world as it exists has become too shit to make much from IMO. It's not just "well, women have the ability to take all your cash in a divorce anymore but that's just how it is" or "yes it's full of double standards, but that's just how it is". Those are ways the world works that can be dealt with. In 2020, and now in 2021 so far, you can't even see people's fucking faces. You can't be out anywhere after 10pm. How does one work towards meaningful goals, how can goals even be meaningful, in these sorts of conditions? It's fucked.

I guess the lesson I learned is that classic line from TNG: "It's possible to commit no errors and still lose." The way things are now, it feels like no matter what I accomplish I'm still losing the game.

[–]Avicythe0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

1.action will eventually lead to riches or lessons, being passive will worsen your life exponentially.

2.you become what you think of yourself (always call yourself an idiot and eventually you will believe you are one)

3.great change requires great sacrifice.

4.food and sleep is the fuel all of your actions a man who doesn’t sleep and doesn’t eat will simply be unable to efficiently act or act at all

5.always strive to be independent. (For me this is closely related to point 3) This goes for economics, friendships, addictions, etc You can’t negotiate with someone you “need” because you can’t walk away if need be.

6.accept yourself when you are making an effort to change for the better: being insecure is never the right frame of mind.

7.you can choose the way you view situations and this will give you power over their effect on you. I couldn’t change my mother’s cancer but I could be there for her, make her days a bit easier, be a stable figure in her life and accept what I couldn’t change.

8.just as negative personality traits can be hidden in your subconscious so can positive ones too, this also goes for hidden motivations, insecurity, repressed feelings and memories, etc. shadow work is unavoidable for a self actualised person(check out Jung for this)

[–]lonelysoul20210 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

The lesson I learnt in 2020: No one can ever make a woman happy. Some women may claim that we are honest enough to confess we are'nt capable of making them happy by which they also testify that it is impossible to be made happy because we are millions living/observing the same thing. No matter if you give them orgasms, write poems, spend most valuable of your time, money with them...They will look for more, yet when they break up with you and start dating someone else and you see that dude is even worse than you in having enough assets to make her happy like a real dumbass don't knowing how to treat women nicely. So she will break up with you just for being a "nice guy" and go to someone pretending to be like alpha treating her like shit..Actually I have discovered in recent years that I carry some red pill behaviour which I didn't understand myself as well but I also found that by the social learning system thorough popular culture, family, education, religion etc. taught me to behave like a blue pill guy. Actually when we say civilisation, we like to tell there is a transformation from a wild beast to a tamed beast..Like emotional castration or some.. I don't know yet how this findings will effect my life but I am sure many separations must have been happening due to this material/emotional perfectionism of women..Dear ladies; ultimate, unbreakable, endless happiness is impossible to maintain, we can not give you what life hasn't been programmed to serve humanity...We all decay each day, we get older, everything decays but yet you still want us to keep everything refreshed and alive..I have to say all this things just made me to behave more like original male sapiens, genetical hertiage being hidden in somewhere inside me to step outside and say ok, enough..Let's see how things roll out..

Greatest lesson was to buy ammo while you still could.

[–]bjcm58910 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

- You can't throw your arms around a memory. No matter how much you enjoyed those "good old days", the company of those friends you were once tight with or those girls you used to have a thing with, they aren't coming back. Stop pining for what is drifting further and further into the past and start thinking about what you need to do to attract equally good, even greater times/ friends/ girls into your life NOW.

- The Rule of 27- you may well have to fail 26 times in a row for success at last on that 27th attempt. So as long as your heart is set towards it, never give up.

- Learning game isn't just for my own benefit- it's for the future benefit of my sons, young men in my family and other young men who are looking to improve their interactions with women. I take responsibility for shaping the future how I want it to be, NOW.

- The 80/20 principle again applies to women. Spend 80% of your time thinking about success in other areas and what you need to “level up” on a personal/ professional level, and that other 20% will take care of itself and be more enjoyable when you get it anyway

- Being present means not concerning yourself with the mistakes you made in the past, nor worrying about missing shots you haven’t even taken. It means only bothering yourself with the things you can influence and control.

- Thinking about how we were complete or that when we do x we will be ‘complete’ is pointless- because with every new opportunity comes a compromise of some sort. Instead, it’s about doing our best and enjoying what we have from where we stand right at this moment

- If you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. Now is the time!

- What can feel like a challenge is, in fact, often a lay-up for us to reach new levels, break new ground and set new records…

- (This one I feel is super important to remember here on TRP): Focusing on women is such a narrow way of looking at the world, when there’s enjoyment to find in so many other things

- It’s important to do the best we can and turn up, because sometimes (just from making the effort and being present) we put ourselves in line for great situations to turn out and opportunities to present themselves that bring us what we seek.

- Talking about things you hate, are sick of or other words laden heavily in emotional grounding only attracts those things to you. Save such terms for the things you love, want more of and want to attract and use dry, dismissive terms for those you have no time for and desire less of.

- Doing something consistently becomes a habit. This applies to positive and negative habits. So aim to form a habit out of doing things/ thinking things that have a positive effect.

(These last two come courtesy of Matt Maconaughey's great book 'Greenlights'):

- To take the road less travelled by might not necessarily mean it’s a road less-travelled by other people. It could be a highway compared to the trails we’ve been taken. But to US, it could be the road we haven’t travelled, and that might just be the reason we should take it!

- ‘Choking’- to simply go away from what worked for you up to a certain point because you didn’t think you could do any better.

1) Focus on you, your purpose and become good at that.

2) Become good at seeing if women really have an interest in you, or are just going alone for a quick ride. Saves a lot of time.

3) Burn bridges if they are holding you back.

Don't play games with love. It will come back and hurt you.

Take risks, never stay at your comfort zone. Never be slave to a pussy.

I had 2 close calls this year, plus COVID - I realized I don't really want to make money for myself. I wrote a will were i had to think who I would give my assets to - and that feeling actually put me a at peace. I was genuinely content with the though of helping my family out.

I, "the great all-knowing red pilled alpha man", managed to pull a top-tier woman and get into relationship with her, but after getting way too fucking comfy I lost my frame and became soft as a motherfucker, which led to her dumping my needy ass and me getting broken pretty hard. It all fucking makes sense now when I look back at it, but at the time I was acting like a thirsty spineless bitch and it pains me the most.

You live and learn though.

my playas nd bosses dnt let a woman change or tell u not to do anything u love to do even if ur gettin high or being busy all day

(my story is whole 2020 was only focused on tryin to get shawtys and get laid, i shoot my magizine but no hit no target, yes i got depressed over shawtys nd yes was thinking of ending my book nd did cut myself, nd due to dat pain i was yanking it since sophomore year (was evry day) and was scared to look at shawtys in their eyes or talkin to one, (btw in hs i was 200+ pounds nd had a beer belly)

after graduating something clicked nd started to chasin my goals nd working out, nov hits and see a shawty i like, i ask her for her number and she ghosted me (she work at ma job) yes i got sad she ghosted me but it was only for a day, after that learned if a shawty likes u she would do da most or constantly want to be in ur company

to recap playa or bosses dnt worry bout any shawty until (this is for adults that r not in high school) u got ur place, car, job, when she sees ur not a bum or just an other ordinary dude, she guna see all da work u putin nd guna find u attractive ( last thing dnt go for women out of ur league like if u work at Walmart dnt go askin any shawty with foreign clothes nd money then expecting da shot to land)

if any read this (most likely no1) but keep grinding nd she will appear just like magic :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
