If you keep the hypergamy in check by anything other than "natural selection" (literally and figuratively) you will at the same time limit the number of women the supposed RP man could sleep with without providing commitment. IOW implementing a rule that a woman can only have 2bfs before marriage, will lead to men having 2gfs before marriage too. Anything you do to women, you will do to men too, automatically.

Male sexual strategy is based on competition in large part. Less hypergamy, less need to compete. If you get a participation trophy, you don't need to train before the race as much as you would if only the first 3 places got rewarded.

We men, took patriarchy for granted, we took our position "above" women for granted ("what do you mean why? it was like this for thousand of years"), while women remained true to their nature (and sexual strategy), therefore men in today's society have a crisis of masculinity b/c if you ask random man who's a masculine man, you'll get answers like: John Wayne, Clint Eastwood or Ron Swanson but nobody will really know how to translate this into practical repeatable behaviours - thus men are LARping masculinity (not to mention complete lack of RP understanding). We implemented logical rules and laws to govern women (and to lesser extent men) but we forgot what gave us the right to do so - the competence that was required to survive and lead in prehistoric and later in ancient times - we forgot our sexual strategy in favour of, in hindsight, the stupidest thing ever: "no baby, you cannot be attracted to him, here's the law that says so".

I can't find the other reply right now, but the TL/DR was: the above rules allowed us to build self sustaining civilisation, for that we paid the price in our masculinity,we footed the bill so to speak, like a good beta/BP would. Time to swallow the RP, this time on wider level.
