The moderation team has been hard at work behind the scenes removing low quality garbage and promoting high quality content and have decided to make our jobs a little easier by implementing a quality control mechanism to help give everyone in this community higher quality content.

From this point forward you're to ask yourself the following questions before you click "submit":

  • Does my post offer something new to the community? Do I have a new insight or observation to pass along?
  • Is what I'm about to post another example of something that we've already seen a bunch of times before?

  • Is my grammar and post's structure readable? Don't just word vomit a wall of text or stream of consciousness.
Note: If you're unsure how to structure your thread, refer to these formatting guidelines. They're no longer required, but they are recommended.

  • Am I about to concern troll or violate another rule that will get me instabanned?

If it's clear to us you didn't do this minimal bit of introspection, then don't be surprised when your thread is deleted without warning.

On the subject of deleted threads, we actively prune low-effort threads to continue to help raise the Signal-to-Noise ratio. Should this happen to you, FIX YOUR THREAD before contacting the moderation team to request it be reinstated (and also include a link).

Finally, this heightened posture sets a new standard for our community, so I want you all to get comfortable. This is the "new normal" around here for the foreseeable future.
