I'm (M;24) having a problem deciding what to do next in my career. I have started a small web design business (1 year running) but it's not suffice enough to make me enough cash for sustainability. I have an honours degree, in Software Development and that has though me a lot, and my plan is to do a Master in Software Development which includes an entrepreneurship module that can help me with the business and add confidence in the startup. I have concluded bellow the cons and the pros of my choices.

Master Degree

Pros

  • A Free education paid for me, including support for a living situation.
  • More confidence in the business startup.
  • Safety-net increase in case the business doesn't take off and a better possible position in regular work.
  • Added value in other areas other than web design.

Cons

  • 1 Year of my life, distributed between 4 different modules not all focusing on my business.
  • The college get's 50% of the net income.

.

Business start up

Pros

  • 100% focus on my startup.
  • Hand on experience in different areas; sales, design, marketing, etc.
  • 1 Year of included support for living situation.

Cons

  • Risky, potential time wasted, business not taking off, etc.
  • All connections must be made by me for future employees/investors/customers.
