This train of thought is relevant to self-improvement which of course is fundamental to SMV, it's not sexual strategy per se, but is a question of a nature which will directly influence everything in your life, sexual strategy of course being one of those components. Part of the red pill is realising what you're doing with your life and understanding that the direction you're heading in greatly affects who you are, your personality, your attraction to the opposite sex and where you'll eventually end up. Will your life be a success in your own eyes at the end of it? How are you measuring success? Success based upon personal happiness and recognition or success based upon financial earnings? A well balanced mixture of all 3 perhaps?
Some people have the ability to be exceptional in a multitude of areas regardless of their interests, typically they have enjoy strong mental acuity, concentration and memory and thus can regurgitate what needs to be done to hit the right grade boundaries in school or prepare the correct documentation for their office jobs. The less mentally gifted (I don't mean unintelligent, but those who are more mortal and less godlike in their absorption of knowledge) can typically only excel in what they find to be their personal calling, something they feel passion for. This is especially true of ADHD types and people with low attention spans who suffer greatly trying to concentrate on things that yield no interest to them yet can focus intensely (I believe the scientific term is known as hyperfocus?) when a particular area or subject manages to catch their interest.
The underlying dichotomy is essentially deciding whether to dedicate yourself to doing something that you love which could potentially pay the bills (but may not - an opportunity cost) or doing something that will definitely pay the bills but as a trade or vocation is a form of psychic prison, no pleasure is derived from the job/vocation/area of learning, it simple saps your spirit dry.
Ideally doing what you love will pay the bills too, but be under no illusions there are plenty of people without the freedom to do what they love but are instead trapped doing crappy assignments for subjects they dislike, meeting deadlines for companies in boring industries that they don't really give a fuck about. They're grinding pay cheques and killing their souls slowly because they're slaves to the international monetary system. They're not harmonious with who they are, they aren't happy, they may make money or have a college place on a course somewhere but they're trapped in a vocation or area of study that is not compatible with their character. They don't enjoy what they're doing. To an extent, one could say its psychological imprisonment, however, all humans are subject to the power of the monetary system we all live under and do what they have to do to survive. Sometimes bad choices are made due to a lack of foreknowledge, eg: you never knew studying IT or business would suck so much and would turn back the clock and choose something else if you could. Now it looks like you're stuck doing tech support and using Microsoft Excel for the rest of your life. You get my drift.
So now I want to present the following questions: what would you regard as being more RP in how you choose to live your life? Doing what needs to be done to make money regardless of how that makes you feel and the effect it has on your personal happiness, effectively taking a bottom line approach, sacrificing your sense of self to attain a certain standard of living? Or maximising your sense of self by following the core of who you really are and dedicating your endeavours to that?
To simplify the question: Should you dedicate yourself to your passions and take a huge risk in doing something that offers no safety and may not pay off or work a cozy 9-5 office job that pays enough but has you drinking yourself into anaesthesia at the weekends?
