Don't trust anyone [mobile]

TL;DR - Don't trust ANYONE. LTR just dodged a speeding ticket by falsely accusing me of domestic abuse.

Just what the title says. Had a LTR for two years. Never planned on getting married, wore protection despite knowing she had a ring. I never saw any red flags, and believe me, I was looking. I thought I was playing it safe. Women will ruin your life if it gives them a break.

Her and I were grabbing a late night drink when she got off work. I made fun of her, and her reply was to spit some of her drink on me. Needless to say, I wasn't having any of that. I wiped off my arm and chest, paid for my drink, and left. She followed me out, passed me on the road, and slammed on her breaks. A cop was on the other side of the road, and pulled her over. I continued home.

Shortly after arriving, I get a call from the police station, saying if I don't come down, they will be issuing a warrant for my arrest for domestic abuse. I've never laid a hand on her.

I'll be spending the next few days telling my story and hoping the guys at the bar will confirm that I left peacefully.

MGTOW is the only way, brothers... I'm actually scared. I've worked so hard to build my empire. I'm 23 and I just bought a house. And now I might be sent to prison for literally nothing.

Dont say shit to the police. Get a lawyer, get ahold of the bar footage then charge her for a false police report and assault (splashing drinks on people is considered assault). Put her life in the ground. No mercy.

That video should really be in the sidebar of every subreddit that deals with the law. I will never not upvote this. The police are not your friends, people. Don't be a dick to them, but don't assume they're on your side either.

[–]smfc9 points10 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

police aren't your friends. common misconception. there are a few "good cops" here and there, but almost all of them are just "enforcing the law". they aren't there to help you, they are there to help the government.

[–]RedMoonAscendant10 points11 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

The police are to society as HR is to the corporation.

Never interact with either in any fashion if you have any power to avoid it.

[–]Calypto-0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

We've gotten to the point where we need it in ours, too.

[–]WilliamBott7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

No warrant = they can't do shit. Talk to a lawyer but wait until they get a warrant and you legally have to go down to the station. Bring the lawyer.

[–]JeremyHall7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Gospel.

[–]Calypto-1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

On the advice of counsel, I invoke my fifth amendment privilege against self-incrimination and respectfully decline to answer your question.

[–]RedEyesBlueShades2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Cold hearted as fuck. Regardless of what you think of him and what he did, that was quite impressive.

It's really hard to shut up.

[–]woahyoungster3456544 points5 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

I'll watch this when I'm home , sounds like an interesting video to spend an evening on.

Can you give me a heads up to know what is this about exactly ?

[–]1Goomich15 points16 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

It's about not talking to the police.

[–]2comment 9 points9 points [recovered] | Copy Link

It's about how not to incriminate yourself, by simply not talking to the police and keeping to the right to remain silent. Since even innocuous statements can be used to hang you, so it's better to just keep your trap shut.

The talk is given by a Law Professor, who was a practicing defense attorney, and a Police Detective.

[–]woahyoungster3456540 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I started watching it , thanks for the summary though

[–]w1seguy0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't talk to cops and then several reasons why it's a bad idea. You can basically implicate yourself unknowingly and avoid it by taking the 5th and waiting for a lawyer.

[–]vagbutters47 points48 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Heed this advice op. Lawyer up, gather evidence, and run this bitch into the ground without remorse.

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This advice is gold. Never talk to the police, no matter how easily you can prove your innocence.

[–]jackandjill226 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Pristine advice.

[–]TedTheAtheist3 points4 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

You can actually charge someone for a false police report? How does that go down?

[–]Joseph_the_Carpenter5 points6 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Police do not enjoy wasting their time on bullshit and it can make them look like idiots in the right circumstance.

[–]TedTheAtheist0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

So a person would have to initiate that, and not a cop?

[–]Joseph_the_Carpenter1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It's called perjury, a charge brought against someone by the state for making a false statement. If it's a "material" statement (has huge consequences) in an official hearing such as a courtroom it's considered a felony.

Texas penal code:

Sec. 37.02. PERJURY. (a) A person commits an offense if, with intent to deceive and with knowledge of the statement's meaning:

(1) he makes a false statement under oath or swears to the truth of a false statement previously made and the statement is required or authorized by law to be made under oath; or

(2) he makes a false unsworn declaration under Chapter 132, Civil Practice and Remedies Code.

(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.

Sec. 37.03. AGGRAVATED PERJURY. (a) A person commits an offense if he commits perjury as defined in Section 37.02, and the false statement:

(1) is made during or in connection with an official proceeding; and

(2) is material.

(b) An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree.

Do not go to the police station. If they had enough to issue a warrant and arrest you, they wouldn't bother calling to politefully request a visit. This is a trap designed to get you into an intereogation room and trick you into self-incriminating.

Definitely contact an attorney asap.

In the unlikely event you are somehow arrested before being able to contact an attorney, do not say a single word other than "I'd like to contact my attorney, please," or "I'm sorry officers, but I am not saying anything without an attorney present." They will try to intimidate you and they will lie to you. They will do whatever it takes specifically to get you talking with no attorney present.

[–]5t3fan054 points55 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

If they had enough to issue a warrant and arrest you, they wouldn't bother calling to politefully request a visit.

THIS THIS THIS

[–]rigneja16 points17 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Not sure what state but domestic violence is the only crime where the sworn affidavit of the accuser is grounds to issue a temporary restraining order etc. once that happens you have ten days before it goes to court to see if a final restraining order should be issued. If you have guns they will be seized if a TRO is issued and you must make a motion to get them back - at your expense of course. Get the fuck off Reddit and lawyer up now. Also note - if a TRO or FRO is issued and she or her agent contacts you she can and will be criminally charged. Speak to no one about this except your attorney - if you do get dragged in front of a judge offer to enter into a mutual restraint order where you both agree to stay clear of each other - quite often they don't have the same loss of property and other ramifications

[–]user_none1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Depending on the state, the person who gets the TRO is not bound to no contact. Meaning, if she files for a TRO and it's granted, he cannot contact her, but she can contact him. The lines are blurred a bit with court paperwork, but that's a different topic.

[–]rigneja0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Hence why mutual restraints are the better option

[–][deleted] 97 points98 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I hope you read this in time.

  1. Don't go to the police station. It's a god damn trap. If they wanted to get you, you'd be in cuffs already and not posting on reddit.

  2. Contact your lawyer NOW. Tell your lawyer to contact the bar and request CCTV footage.

  3. Be mentally prepared because it seems like it's all pre-planned against you. You made fun of her and she was patiently waiting for that chance to come up and pull that shit on you.

[–]rigneja25 points26 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't have the attorney just request the footage - serve them with notice that the footage is discoverable evidence and must be secured and not over written - most security cameras are connected to a DVR that over writes then the disk is full - this needs to happen asap or your evidence could be destroyed

[–]vox_veritas6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Correct. The attorney needs to send a subpoena first thing, along with a spoliation letter. The bar isn't under a legal obligation to produce or disclose the footage with just a letter. I made this mistake exactly once in my practice. Now, the first contact from me is a subpoena for the footage via a private process server.

[–][deleted] 67 points68 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

Lawyer up first thing in the morning. Try to find witnesses at the bar via the bar staff. Maybe they have a video of your visit? Maybe some of the people there were regulars?

[–]yumyumgivemesome32 points33 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Honest question, how exactly does one go about finding a decent lawyer on short notice over the weekend in such a high-consequences type of situation like this?

[–]Chelseaqix6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Avvo.com (I work for a marketing agency that focuses on lawyers)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

If you can reach out to friends, family, coworkers, people you trust you may have luck in getting a reference. As others said, say NOTHING to the cops and make them get a warrant if they are so anxious to talk to you. Press charges on this woman for false statement. Get over to that bar and get that video footage and contact info for witnesses so your attorney has good foundation to build your case on. Good luck and remain calm, this will pass and life will get better!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Most lawyers who are serious about their practice are just a phone call away. I have family who practiced law who would receive calls from all hours of the day from their clients.

[–]Eidolon343646 points47 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Ouch. Well obviously shit just got real. Lawyer up ASAP. dont say anything just let the lawyer handle it. Get a restraining order to keep her off/away from your house.

[–]ChadThundercockII8 points9 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

The restraining order is a good idea. It would help in the future to sink that bitch.

[–]ElectricFagSwatter3 points4 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't just having one on you sort of screw you in life because your employer's can see that and choose to not hire you.

[–]dingman586 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Possibly. But it's also possible not to be a lying cunt and falsely accuse you partner of a very serious crime just to get out of a simple traffic ticket.

[–]ChadThundercockII3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Getting one Trumps not getting one when dealing with lying, scum of the earth, vengeful women. Use the law against them or they will use it against YOU.

[–]Eidolon34360 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

LAWYER LAWYER LAWYER LAWYER LAWYER LAWYER

[–]smokecheck197640 points41 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

The advice here is solid. Lawyer up. Tell the lawyer everything that happened. Have the lawyer talk to the police and get any necessary affidavits. They may think you are easy prey right now, but when a lawyer talks to them, they will back off.

If she filed any sort of report, sue her for false reports and make her pay the lawyer bill.

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Everything you need to know you can learn from the taglines at the end of the X-Files intro video:

The Truth is Out There

Trust No One

Deny Everything

[–]1favours_of_the_moon20 points21 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

LTR just dodged a speeding ticket by falsely accusing me of domestic abuse.

It doesn't take much.

Btw, you can never speak to her or see her again.

[–]SexistFlyingPig15 points16 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It seems scary right now because they accusation has been made. But don't say a fucking word to the police, other than "I request to have my lawyer present."

When the police ask you questions, they are NOT trying to determine your innocence. They are trying to find things that you say to confirm your guilt. Absolutely nothing you say can help you, but it can hurt you.

[–]SmilingWatermelon14 points15 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

They called to ask you in or they will arrest you? Its a bluff. A pathetic one. Do. Not. Go.

Gather your evidence, go to the bar and tell them what happened. Next time a girl throws a drink at you, make a scene. People need to see what happened.

If its just her word against yours and you have evidence to the contrary you should be okay. Dont use a public defender, get a private attorney.

[–]1StoicCrane0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Public defenders are worth horse shit. They might as well be cops themselves.

[–]JackGetsIt10 points11 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

Women will ruin your life if it gives them a break.

This is basically the most important lesson to learn about women.

[–]user_none4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

And women will almost always have other men do their bidding. Whether it's the idiot white knight, or the state, one will aim to take you down and with violence.

[–]1PantsonFire12343 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Well in all fairness in her mind this all makes perfect sense. You see OP was fucking with her emotionally so she felt abused. Then when she tried to chase him she got pulled over.

"Well how did you get pulled over fine Lady?" "Simple, my boyfriend abused me and I was in distress trying to follow him officer!"

Women gonna women

[–]JackGetsIt1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

In normal town the officer would have used some logic, "Why are you chasing your abuser?" But we don't live in normal town. We live in white knight ville.

[–]TRP VanguardArchwinger38 points39 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Never voluntarily talk to police about your side of a story. Their only goal is to collect enough information to make a charge stick. They're not interested in letting you go if your story is good enough, only using your story against you.

If the police ask you to come to the station over an alleged crime, tell them that you've done nothing wrong and ask if you are under arrest. If not, you're free to go. If they arrest you, don't say anything, no matter how trivial. Only state that you want an attorney.

[–]IDefyAxioms22 points23 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

tell them that you've done nothing wrong

Don't even do this. Do not make any admissions or statements regarding your guilt in the charge.

[–]LordThunderbolt21 points22 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

If she's spitting her drink at you, that's not coming from out of nowhere. That's a huge red flag, and it's no way the first. You MUST have overlooked the previous ones.

[–]RedSyringe2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, complete garbage that she's been an angel for 2 years then suddenly spits a drink and accuses him of DV.

[–]mrbossman123 3 points3 points [recovered] | Copy Link

Yes, I was about to post this. Are you telling me that you didn't spot this in her personality for 2 years? She suddenly went nuts one night with no warning after 2 years?? Unlikely...

[–]ChadThundercockII14 points15 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Sue that bitch for a assault and false police report, and basically everything you can. Push your lawyer to get you a big fat check from this. You are not a victim. Oh, and get yourself a bike with that money.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (7 children) | Copy Link

I fucking expect updates OP.

[–]1mrust1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

There only needs to be one update:

  • contacted lawyer
  • dropped bitch

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

yeah but i wana hear what actually happens.

[–] points points | Copy Link

[permanently deleted]

[–]1mrust0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Sketti-Os[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Delivered. I think everything's going to be cool.

[–]qiang_shi0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

What kind of update is that? Fucks sake. You young people have no respect anymore. I wanted my internet drama!

[–]MrBowlfish4 points5 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Don't trust ANYONE? That's nonsense. I trust plenty of men. You're recoiling and you will learn to come out of your shell again in due time.

[–] points points | Copy Link

[permanently deleted]

[–]smfc2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

that whole "brothers" thing only applies to gangs and family. "masculine brotherhood" doesn't exist these days when you have self-professed "Alphas" competing with each other for money, careers, and women instead of working with each other to fight a toxic culture/government.

[–]juliusstreicher0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Also, do not communicate with anybody in re: this shit. Your 'bros' who slap you on the back about it are wearing bodycams or are recording everything that you say, and will turn it over to your ex in return for the opportunity to orbit. The more savvy ones will manage a bj out of the deal.

When her friends text you about it, do not respond.

[–]LordThunderbolt2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't trust anyone dude. Stop thinking that your "brothers" are so much better than the girls out there. Men are people, and people are flawed creatures. Trust no one.

[–]smfc0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

yea you trust plenty of men until they fuck you over for a hefty amount of cash or a better position in their career. only reason to trust other men is if you know they already FEAR you. Don't trust women, period. they are hardwired to manipulate others, it's not something socially learned.

[–]Senior EndorsedMattyAnon2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Do not apologise

Don't say anything, don't let them corner you into saying sorry. This is an admission of guilt. Lawyer up bro... let us know how it goes.

[–]Tiway221 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Jesus that's scary. Best of luck man. Hope your lawyer can save you and give that girl what she deserves.

[–]WilliamBott1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

And shit like this is why I've been a MGTOW for some years now.

[–]BehrGris1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

How ironic would it be in a "Don't Trust Anyone" post if op went to the police without a lawyer.

Please lawyer up and go after this woman

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It's been a full day or more and this guy has posted zero updates and this post was actually his last post on his history.

Damn. I'm worried about this guy's safety right now.

[–]sasapesso1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Man those posts make me scared. What kind of monsters are you dating? I have never experienced such a thing, maybe the reason is my gf is way richer than me.

[–]A_Becker1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Dear God, the suspense is killing me here. Please tell me you didn't go to the police station. If we don't here back, I'll just assume that it hit the fan.

[–]Sketti-Os[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Didn't go. Just posted an update, all is well...ish.

[–]NewestHouse1 point2 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

23 and you just bought a house? Sounds to me like you come from money, beware, the state will come after you that much harder because there is more profit in it for them.

[–]Austiny12 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm from a small town in the Midwest. I could've bought a house when I was 18 by waiting tables pretty easily.

[–]NewestHouse0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Crazy, shits very different in Canada... lol

[–]Sketti-Os[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't come from money, I just went to school for computer science and took up a first-time buyer mortgage. It's not super hard when you're making six figures and don't have much in the expense column.

[–]This1sMyWorkAccount0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Making millennials look good my man.

[–]teeelo0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

So you're telling me, a Cop saw a car stunting, pulled them over and somehow came to the conclusion that the guilty party was in fact the boogeyman who assaulted her and that's why she was driving like that.

[–]RedMoonAscendant1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

The saddest part of this story is it's believable. Women have gone to shit the past couple decades.

[–]plein_old0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Lots of good advice here about avoiding voluntarily walking into interrogation rooms & further traps. Watch out for predatory white knights with no integrity. If you're going to "trust no one", consider including bureaucractic employees who have quotas to fill.

I would just add that trying to "put someone's life into the ground" as revenge is a kind of fixation that can simply continue to put you into her frame, continue to give her power over you.

[–]Hazelismylife2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

https://youtu.be/8Wy4TaZA1go

Never talk to the cops.

[–]Scizzler-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Um, so you "never" got any red flags? Yet she spits on you and dies all that other shit? Riiiiiiight bro. You wouldn't know a red flag if it literally slapped you in your face. You should have dropped this bitch the second you saw the red flags.....um sure there were hundreds with a dumb bitch like that. But keep living your "reality", I'm sure you'll end up just fine.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

lol I love how humorless idiots on here are downvoting me. I guess your average redditor is too autistic to realize sarcasm if /s isn't placed behind the sentence

[–]juliusstreicher0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Sarcasm...it's a cruel taskmaster!

[–]Late30sMasculist-2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Had a LTR for two years.

.

wore protection despite knowing she had a ring. I never saw any red flags, and believe me, I was looking.

You suck at choosing women. This sort of crazy doesn't come out of nowhere after two years.

[–]smfc-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

fuck the police and fuck MGTOW. if they would have had ANY evidence to amount to a warrant they wouldn't be "asking" you to go to the police station. you're a man god dammit, go arm yourself with something solid like a 44mag, tell the cops to fuck themselves, they have no evidence on you. Stop being scared of nothing.

[–]yomo86-3 points-2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

A case is never won and innocence is neger established at the rusty desk of a law officer. Show up at the police station. Tell them you invoke your rights with no admission of guilt. Showing up with a lawyer is even more effective.

[–]CptFizz-2 points-1 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

MGTOW is a dead end. Literally. It's a defeatist movement initiated by the enemy. It plays right into the hand of the feminists and their goal of destroying the family.

[–][deleted] 4 points4 points | Copy Link

[–]smfc1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

She has to fear you. "If I betray this man, I'm going to lose my life". Respect from anybody, men or women, has to have a certain amount of fear in it. otherwise, you will get fucked over because you're a "beta cuck" who is afraid to stand up for himself to anyone.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
