As I read this heartbreaking article, parallels kept coming to mind of how this woman, Marie Stopes, in both thought and deed, is the poster child, in large part, of feminist ideology and behavior as well as a fulfillment of some foundational RP philosophy. I've summarized these thoughts below

THE CLAIM OF EQUALITY A FACADE She wrote, Married Love, an international bestseller, about how to have a successful marriage. In the book, she argued success came as a result of equality between husband and wife. However, she often publicly humiliated and abused her husbands in both her marriages by:

  • Brought widespread attention to one of her husbands inability to maintain an erection and that this was the reason she divorced him.
  • Forced one of her husbands to live in an attic who could only come down when he finished his chores. Did not allow her husband to see his son, though they lived in the same house. He constantly plead "‘I hope you will allow me to see Harry sometimes" to her.
  • Forced her husband to write a letter releasing her of her marital vows to him, but did not divorce him.

ALPHA FUCKS BETA BUCKS Her husbands swallowed the blue pill hard when it came to this woman. She milked them for what she could because she knew they weren't going anywhere. But, who was the man she admired and revered? Who was the man she sent her poems about love too? Another blue pill like her husbands? Nope. One of the most aggressive, domineering and savage men in history, Adolf Hitler.

INABILITY TO SEE THE WORLD THROUGH ANYTHING BUT THE LENS OF ACADEMIA Feminists often verbalize a word salad of fringe academic terminology and case studies which probe into human relationships. However, there appears to be a bankrupt understanding of that these terms and studies mean in real, human, interaction. Think, Leonard's mom from The Big Bang Theory who, despite being a successful psychotherapist cannot relate to any human behavior or feelings on an empathetic level. Rather, everything she says during regular conversation comes in the form of textbook graduate student terminology. When asked to describe what her son was like as a child, Leonard's mom went explained Freud's theory on the subject. Anyway, like many feminists, she wrote a book about kids. The name of her book is Wise Parenthood. Get ready for some dark, and I mean dark, irony. In practice as a parent, she:

  • Forced her only child, and son, to wear girls skirts until he was 11
  • Did not allow him to read books
  • Forced his separation from his father
  • Afraid her son would become socially inept without other children, she brought in, then discarded, a number of adoptive children. She described her reasons for getting rid of her sons potential playmates as: he would ‘never bloom so as to be a credit to us’ he lacked ‘academic ability and literary and artistic sensibility’. he was ‘unfit to live in a decent household’ (due to bed wetting)
  • She wanted to decide who her son marries. When he didn't, she all but removed him from her will.

MEGALOMANIAC ATTITUDE Feminists...geez...talk about a feeling of entitlement and a sense of being right, and the bearers of moral truths, about everything in the world. Stopes gave the perfect example of this attitude in action when she addressed a conference of Anglican bishops with the opening ‘My Lords, I speak to you in the name of God. You are his priests. I am his prophet. I speak to you of the mysteries of man and woman.’
