And these women should know! Usually it's the wife who writes and sends out all the Christmas cards. Mother's Day: 1 card. Valentine's Day: .5 cards (adjusted for singles and ppl who don't send cards). Christmas? 10+ cards!

How could none of them think xmas... it's a simple fuckin math question.

For Mother's day, only mothers can receive cards, usually only from immediate family, and often grouped into one card.
Valentine's day, only women in relationships can receive cards, and it's not a popular option because men all know women will be thinking "wtf... just a card?," easily cross this one off the list.
X-Mas, every family is sending out x-mas cards, to all their close relatives and friends with the kids in grandma's awesome sweater from last year.

If X represents the number of families, and each family has an average of Y close families to send X-Mas cards to.

Then you get a maximum of X cards for mother's day, and a maximum of X * Y cards for x-mas... it's like the easiest math question in the world.

To be honest I thought Mother 's Day too. I was thinking more statewide instead of international. I always saw Valentine's Day as a finicky day for cards.
