This is something that Chris from Good Looking Loser always talked about. Getting in action with "averages" and even "uglies" (with good qualities) is way better than be in your home nuting to a screen. I've had experiences similar to OP, so I'd like to comment and relate them and maybe fill in some gaps of understanding for the guys here who are asking questions.

I lost my virginity at 25 in 2011. After that, I got laid on a fairly normal basis... way less than I would've liked some years, but I averaged maybe 3-4 a year, sometimes more on some years, and some years were rough and I'd only fuck 1 or 2. Since 2011 I've fucked over 30 girls, maybe 35-38 right now.

2019 was fucking a terrible year though and I legit went a whole year without getting laid at all. It made me EXTREMELY insecure for a bit. It might seem weird if you've never been through this, but I actually questioned if it was even "me" who had fucked all those girls or if somehow my brain had manufactured a fantasy.

The only thing that gave me concrete evidence that I had, in the past, fucked hot girls, were the nudes they had sent me. This was hard evidence that something had happened. But it's like my brain wanted to erase all of these facts and just tell me "Nah, that wasn't you. You suck with girls."

If you go through a long enough dry spell, it can actually threaten your self-image in a very sudden and violent way.

Whether or not the OP was an incel depends on how you define it. Had he gotten laid before in his life? Yes. But he wanted to get laid for 730 days and couldn't, so I would say he was temporarily an incel. In 2019 I wanted to get laid pretty much every day, so I was in some sense an incel for a year.

Breaking out of a long dry spell can be almost as intimidating as losing your virginity for the first time and in some sense even more intimidating, because you're wondering if you've somehow "lost your touch" and won't ever get it back, which can lead to an increase in neediness overall. Like "Oh this girl said hi, she's clearly interested, so let me spam her with 20 messages so I can finally break my dry spell and prove to myself I'm still desirable."

Here is what I have found to help me when getting out of a rut / dry spell:

- Don't focus on it. It is what it is. You're in a dry spell. Accept it and don't fight it. This will help to lower your neediness levels a bit. The worst thing you can do is constantly be thinking "I'm in a dry spell, oh no, fuuuuuuck"

- Improve any and every facet of poor lifestyle that you can. In 2019 I was working an 11PM-7:30AM overnight shift at my job, and it really fucked up my sleep, my energy levels, and my ability to simply be awake when most normal people (girls included) are awake. By happenstance I got moved to a more normal evening shift and things started improving thereafter. Make sure you're getting good sleep. Take vitamins. Work out if you aren't. Go to a doctor or dermatologist to fix any health issues that are bothering you.

- Put yourself out there. OP alluded to this. Even if you don't feel attractive (because you don't have any recent evidence to say you are), you aren't going to go anywhere if you don't put yourself out in front of women. Get on Tinder / OKCupid / whatever else app. Update it with new pics. Update your profile. Go to bars / social gatherings. Go out if friends invite you out. Keep talking to normal attractive women even if they can't or don't want to fuck you. Talking to hot married women helped me, as did talking to burlesque dancers who didn't necessarily want to fuck me. They would still invite me out to the shows and I'd have a fun night and get social XP and an occasional makeout. WAY better than staying in your dungeon playing video games and beating off.

- If you have had any past success at all, take heart in that success and let it inspire you. For me, I did have a bunch of lays to draw on. Like "Fuck you, brain. I actually did fuck all those girls. ME. And I don't look that much different." But when I was a virgin, I'd remind myself of makeout sessions and "near-misses". Times when I could have fucked a girl but was too stupid to try it or the logistics were bad.

- Escalate until the girl stops you (if she ever does). In the event you do get a match on Tinder or a date, escalate if or until the girl stops you. In other words, don't cut yourself off at the knees by not at least trying. And don't feel like you have to rush it either. But if you get a Tinder match, message the girl. Then you should try to transition to getting her number so you can text after IMO (and she can send you pics). See if you can sexualize the dynamic. If she accepts it and seems cool, see if she will meet up with you. During the meetup, have fun and see if she's down to be alone with you. Touch her. See if she's receptive. If so, keep going. Many times, if your self image is bad, you won't even think to try to escalate. Just escalate and keep the faith.

In my experience, limiting porn didn't personally help me much. Getting burnt out on watching / beating off to porn did motivate me. Over text after a Tinder match I will frequently go sexual pretty fast. I'll ask if she's comfortable with me asking personal questions (they all are). I'll ask if the girl is submissive at all. If yes, how much? When did she know? I'll let her know I'm dominant by default. I'll ask her height, shoe size, and cup size so I can get a more accurate mental image (and also if they are telling you all this stuff, they are participating in your escalation - they are allowing you to start sexualizing the dynamic).

If it all looks good after a bit of chatting, then you go for a meet and handle the logistics.

The way I personally do things is I make it very clear over text the dynamic is sexual. The more they confess to me, the better. If they send me nudes when I ask, even better. I never show up to a meet in a boring interview mode because the girl is already primed to see me as sexual and attractive. So at this point it's just a matter of being normal and engaging and... I wouldn't even say attractive... just not unattractive. Be like your pics. Match the energy of your online interactions.

Not every date is gonna go great. Some will go smooth, some girls won't wanna fuck or will not like you and not tell you why. But as long as you are out there accruing social XP instead of rotting in the fap dungeon, you done good.

What you don't understand is that for many of us, we don't have the looks required to be successful on Tinder. I even tried with professional pictures that I took so much time to learn how to perfect myself, and even then, it only increased my matches from 0 to 2 per day, and it was only after I morphed my pics with FaceApp that I started to get a lot of matches in a short time.

But it's still not enough, I am 195 lbs at 15% body fat at 6 foot 4 but I have only 13 inch arms. Most women on Tinder want a guy who has at least a big chest, a wide back, 3d delts and 16 inch arms. I am just slightly more muscular than the average man but I started with less muscle mass than average, I started at 138 lbs at 15% body fat at 6 foot 4 in 2016.

I personally think that Nofap is a waste of time for men like me who can't get laid with Tinder.
