Don't take a girl out for dinner on a first date.

An ideal date is something exciting and free. There are free music venues in your town. I have a google calendar just for keeping track of stuff like that. (here's a tip: it comes in handy if you meet a girl and you want to change venue. Glance at your phone and then say, "there's a (whatever) going on at (wherever), let's go!" - that's much more likely to get you laid than, "may I have your number so that I can call you and schedule a boring dinner")

Don't talk too much.

It starts to feel like a job interview. A lot of women are extroverts and they like to talk (or at least it seems that way to me, as an introvert). A good proxy for "exciting" above is "crowd of people" as in, a party. It's better to take a girl to a party and cut her loose than to just sit and talk to her for hours.

Touch her.

Put her arm through yours when you're walking. Put your hand on the small of her back when you open a door for her. Ideally, you want to go dancing, but I know some of you aren't into that.

The point is, getting to know someone is easy. Attraction is the thing you have to work on. So many people have it backwards.

Don't stress yourself thinking she isn't going to like it. It's fine if she doesn't. Respect that, obviously. But know that if you pick up signals that she's uncomfortable, then that's an indication that she's not attracted to you. The date wasn't going to end well anyway.

Seldom have women been so obvious to me. Bear in mind that women know they may come out as materialistic, and although they are, feminism will step in and make them act differently.

I've met women who would split bills, who would say they don't care about a big house, a fancy car and what not. But there's a subtle difference between "not caring about a fancy car" and "not caring about a car". So when time was due, they would reveal their plans to engulf my money by saying things like "I'd love to move in with someone" (although they couldn't pay for the toilet paper).

Reminds me of one time I had opened up two girls at a house part. The first girl was chatting with me cheerfully, while the second girl only spoke to insert a few questions in the conversation. Her questions were: What car do you drive? Where do you work? Where do you live?

On a first date, I've often picked out a wine/cocktail bar that has a few things by the glass and see what they go for.

Invariably, the ones who immediately want a Champagne, Pinot Noir or California Cabernet tend to be incredibly high maintenance, and never have an interest in paying.

I'll usually suggest trying something totally off the beaten path (e.g. Greek whites, Portuguese or lighter Spanish reds, which always are a lot cheaper) or a simpler cocktail.

The women who immediately turn their nose up at those options somehow cause my phone to ring 10 minutes later with an urgent call from my broker that I have to address right away.

What about women who say they don't need their partner to be making XYZ amount of money because they were raised modestly, but have the looks to suggest they clearly won't be messing around with an average joe?

Also look for any signs of status-seeking: I was with one woman for over a year before I witnessed her dropping the name of the street we just moved onto (lucked into a cheap rent 2 blocks from a private beach in a very upscale town), and then all the little things became apparent.

Still don't know if I failed to pay attention to small hints. OK, now I think about it, I did fail to. Damn! There were a lot of times she went out of her way to impress people; I just misinterpreted that as her slinging BS to achieve a goal (I sling BS when I want to influence others business decisions to favor me; doesn't everyone?)

So add BS slinging to the list of signs to watch for.

Edit: and make sure your dick isn't making your decisions; that was my other mistake and what made me stick my dick in crazy.

Does she complains about using public transportation? especially if she knows you have a car or you already took her on a date in it.

you meet her at place for rich people or in the rich area of your town but she does not work or live there.

Get angry at you if more that 2 hours pass and you have not buy her anything.

Talk about her friend's boyfriend who took her to (insert country or any expensive place for a date)

Start asking for money because (insert some bill here or college debt)

Says she only drinks (insert expensive drink here)

Try to meet yours friends to find out if they are better economically speaking than you or better yet, meet your boss.

One of my ex's was a huge gold digger, had no idea for a while but this was the fight that made me realize how big of a gold digger she was:

I had moved to a different state to pursue a masters degree (I know long distance is stupid, we all make mistakes), and we got into a fight about how I wasn't paying enough attention to her. Basically we stopped talking for a few days because I told her that I needed to be going to parties and meeting people on the weekends, it was unreasonable for me to stay in my apartment and talk to her on the phone all night.

She broke the silence when she called me all upset that her diamond earrings were missing. She was a substitute school teacher, with diamond earrings that daddy bought her. Then I remembered, she worked at a Jewelry store part time as well.

My big mistake was just getting mad at her for calling me about that in the middle of a fight. I should have broken up with her on the spot because clearly those diamond earrings were more important than our relationship problems. Instead we continued this methadone breakup where we would call each other every night just to make sure the other person wasn't fucking someone else. I swallowed the Red Pill shortly after.

A good gold digger will know how to hide her true nature in order to manipulate you. The only way to smoke her out is to hide the true extent of your wealth, or to trick her by claiming that you've taken a large financial hit.

Edit: Also, you must make sure never to marry her.
