She said this is inherently misogynistic, because it’s considered “negative” or “humiliating” for a man to be feminine. If it’s negative or humiliating for a man to be “feminized” then femininity must be inferior to masculinity, and women must be inferior to men, otherwise it would be something positive for a man to be feminized. It would be an ego boost, not humiliating or bad.
Indeed. Whereas the truth is that it is negative or humiliating for a man to be feminine AND negative or humiliating for a woman to be masculine.
No misogyny. Just an expression of instinctive preference for sex roles and traits.

Whisper, that's the thing though, it might not be humiliating for a woman to be masculinized in certain situations. Your woman might wear your shirt, but you're not likely to wear hers. The infamous "double standard."
Obviously none of this has anything to do with "misogyny," leftists generally tend to label anything and everything they don't like as "hate."

Your woman might wear your shirt
I always saw that as a sign of submission. She's broadcasting (even if it's just to you around the house) that she's yours.

A woman acting masculine still has reproductive value. A male acting feminine has no reproductive value, as a male or female.

"To a feminist, wanting to be different than a woman is inherently woman hate – presumably, because (some) women mimic the masculinity they are attracted to."
"While a normal woman will crave masculinity – in a man – feminists seem to crave masculinity in themselves, and then are outraged that a man would not crave femininity in himself. In fact, the desire of men to not be feminine is called “toxic masculinity” by feminists."

and then are outraged that a man would not crave femininity in himself.
A lot of effeminate men walking around these days so it's not that they didn't succeed in their male re-education campaign. The only problem is that they are no longer attracted to them.
Those men (some through no fault of their own) simply failed the feminist shit teat

It is certainly some sort of disorder. SSRIs, mountain sized daddy issues, misandry, hypocrisy, zero personal responsibility, paranoia, anger, projection, self-entitlement, ableism, you-go-girlism, and lots of penis envy to round out that joke of a "social movement." I'm hoping to see it collapse in my lifetime, otherwise EE/SEA will be looking pretty good.

I think feminism, MODERN feminism (not oldschool egalitarian feminism) is abut embracing a victim mentality.
It's much easier to blame others for your failures than owning up to them.

I would argue that feminism is a woman wanting to be both male and female at the same time, and is unable to reconcile the 2 genders.
Feminism wants a person to be both extremely feminine and extremely masculine at the same time.
This is completely impossible to do.

Good point, if they associate masculinity with power and femininity with weakness, they fight their feminine side by acting masculine while wanting to maintain their femininity.
You can understand the conflict.

I liken it to a seesaw, with femininity on one side, and masculinity.
Feminists try to have both sides heavily loaded, which breaks the see saw.
We all seek to balance our nature. Masculine men, seek feminine women for balance.
Feminists try and be both feminine and masculine, so it is impossible for them to find balance.
Plus they are fighting the lower brain feelings that cause them to be repulsed by feminine men.
Explains why most feminists are mentally ill.
But then again, I would argue they were mentally ill, which is WHY they were drawn to feminism.
Erin Pezzley makes some fantastic observations that every hardcore feminist she met in her advocacy days, was a broken, damaged person and feminism and man hate was a way of projecting their dysfunction onto the world at large

Perhaps my take on it is slightly different (from my time a few years ago teaching at a university and doing research in multiple social science departments):
With the way modern feminism is taught in college these days in programs of sociology, international relations, womens/gender studies, it starts out as a study of how outcomes and roles are different in society for men and women, and then examines inequalities that emerge.
Essentially, this just creates a victim mentality - male-dominated power structures, or hierarchies developed in patriarchal power structures viewed as old/archaic/unfair, lead to certain social/economic outcomes that of course leave women worse off. So it becomes all the easier for women to embrace this victim mentality, while young men in these sorts of programs are fed with ideas of how to empower women and challenge/break through these old, unfair power structures, making women all the happier, and all in the name of things such as "social justice".
So for example, when studying or talking about war... these feminist scholars will talk about various inequalities or other consequences that affect women specifically. There are "feminist" courses that will study the conflict in Bosnia/Serbia, discussing things like wartime rape as an example of gendered outcomes from violence that is, of course, caused/facilitated by males. And in these courses, not a word about the number of men who'll also die, be shot, injured, or impoverished. Men are villainized as the people creating wars, raping women, and killing others, but never are looked at as people who also suffer the same threats and injustices.
It's a disorder, but I'm not sure if it's just a gender identity disorder. It's more than that, which is why we see so many women emerging with these ideas of entitlement/victimization, and young men indoctrinated by such ideas that feel it is their duty to appease these thoughts in the name of "social justice".
MahlerNinth, interesting observation. I wonder what's at the root though, before education. I read a high school girl not long ago writing a post that said something along the lines, "it's true men are physically stronger than women, there's no need to get upset about it (but I still do sometimes.)"
That sort of feeling doesn't come from a feminist education, or at least not higher education.
Generally, the entire academic left seems to be about pushing a victim mentality, what's essentially a slave morality. One has moral status by being a victim.
